Ghost / Frost Stripes...

Alright,
I'm interested in the frost or ghost bonnet stripes, but I don't really know how they would look on my space blue cooper s. I was wondering if anyone has put these on and where they bought the stripes from. I would appreciate any pics and opinions are welcomed. Thanks for the help...

I got mine from Aesthetic Creations - Mike does a great job

I have the frost on my black roof and they look awesome. A little more 'glittery' than I expected them to be, but I got over that quick and really like them now. Here's a (bad) picture - I've seen much better on the forum in other's sigs...

This one was taken at night with a flash - the frost is much more reflective under night lights

As you can see, much more understated during the day

Well, if you want to ghost them, just go to your local sign shop and have them get the vinyl that closely matches your car's color. Then have them make the stripes. The above post already informed you on the frost method.

Trust me, I had vinyl done on my old Solid Gold, and they ordered the Gold vinyl. You would have thought it came from the BMW factory it matched so well.

Cooperflags sells a really nice "ghost" material with just a hint of sparlke in it... It looks a bit lighter on vdark cars and a bit darker on light.

http://www.cooperflags.com/ProductDetail.cfm?ID=8

See: Frosted Vinyl

I asked them if they'd send me a sample and they did BTW, so if you want to try it, send them an email and he'll send back a 3" square as a sample. best to see for yourself if you'll like it.

Good luck!

Chainsaw Flowerchild has Electric Blue with those ghost flames. I drool every time I see Fiona. Rob says I could do the same thing with Fayt, but it just wouldn't be the same. Go check out his gallery.

Here are pics of a DS, when ghost stripes were removed.

WOW! Is that common or a one off type situation?

What am I looking at, here? Are you saying that something in the stripe material discolored the paint, or is this the result of something eating THROUGH the stripe? It's weird that the stripe material stuck like it did on the "freckle", and I wonder if you used water or some other liquid to help with the application?

I've not seen an entire stripe first-hand made of the translucent ghost material, but the sample of the material I got was totally even and free of any dark speckling...

I noticed the spotting after a year or so. Tried to remove from the stripe, no joy. Then a close look showed the spots were below the stripe and in the paint.
I removed the stripes as you see there. The seller of this stuff no longer recommends it for certain geograpical areas - lots of sun - heat.

This particular material, while perhaps terrific for an application on glass, is not suited for use on clearcoat car finishes.
