Man you must be a tall one. I'd guess a 1/2 to 3/4 at most. Too me it would make more sense to lower the seat to the floor. Just a thought.

Looks like if the car didn't have a sun roof there may just be a bit more room. What are you doing with your headliner out Rival? Putting a cage in??

Andy, sorry I spaced on your PM.

Depends on if you have a sunroof or not on how much you gain. With a sunroof I don't think it's much more then an inch, but it has been a while since I removed mine. Try posting this in the road race section as most have done this that race.

Greg, I special-ordered my MINI without a sunroof so that I would have the extra inch of headroom. I have about 1.5" to spare with the seat all the way down. Once the helmet goes on, though, I have to compromise my driving position - reclining the seat means gorilla arms to reach the wheel and if I slide the seat forward my legs are cramped.

Also, thanks for the suggestion... I'll try reposting in the road racing forum.

Here's another idea: how much would a race seat lower the seating height? I suppose it would also depend on the mounting bracket, right?
