I wanted a professional paint job for my DFIC bonnet scoop. My shop wasn't going to be able to do it until this coming Wednesday, and but I couldn't wait to install the DFIC, so now I've got a DFIC hood scoop in "Masking Tape Blue."

I'm still debating whether to paint the hood scoop in body colour, glossy black to match the bonnet stripes, or gunmetal to match the wheels. :impatient

 

Just a thought...get one of each color so you can swap them out as need be.

Thanks - I'm just super-impatient. Leaving all those ponies on the table for even one weekend would have driven me crazy.

Indeed! They've done many fantastic jobs for me in the past - even though they're a bit farther away from me, their work is simply unparalleled.

Still some pinging , but not as much due to the lower IATs, as can be expected. I'm looking forward to seeing Dr. O and TonyB's numbers when they do their testing. Low-end and mid-range torque is vastly improved, according to the butt dyno. I'm not complaining, but I'm starting to think that a water injection system may be the only sure-fire solution to resolve the detonation. Any luck lately with your pinging?

 

That'd do the trick, but like my clothing, I'm just going to end up with a favourite one out of those and the unlucky colours will simply languish in the closet.

 

I haven't done much to combat the ping lately......too busy and quite frankly pretty darn tired of chasing the problem. Jacques seems to think he can tune it out with a new header (mania header w/ stock cat) but since I just put the MTH header on a couple months ago that proposition is a bit painful on the wallet right now. we'll see........
