EURO wheel arches

Im sure this has been asked before, but i cannot seem to find it.

Im trying to find euro wheel arch trim that has the reflector/light housing deleted on the black wheel arch/bumper molding. I already know the Fuzz dont like it, but im trying to find a place i can order some. If you know where i can order some, please let me know.

Thanks!

It's my understanding that Swedish cars do not have the side marker lights as ours do. I would check the NET for a MINI Dealer in Sweden, go to their parts room & see if you can order them

They are sweet, I picked them up from my trip to HK last summer. But they are kinda expensive for a piece of pastic, 400HKD a side (52USD). You can contact dealers from other counties, see if they are willing to ship them to you. Otherwise, I really don't know where to get them.

cheers,
JOHN

those pics above are SEXY!

very nice pics!

im looking for some of those, for my solid PW MCS thats on order. I want the trim painted asap after it arrives, and i dont want side markers in the moldings. Hopefully i can score some before the car gets here, i should have a bout a month and a half of time to get ahold of some.

wish me luck!

I know that several places like Outmotoring carry blackout film that covers them in daylight but still allows the light to shine through at night, which seems like a good (and legal... at least MORE legal) compromise. I've seen them and they look pretty nice. I know others have taken the high-tech route of removing them and painting them as well.

John,

Where did you buy these in Hong Kong? I'll be going to HK for business in a few weeks. If you get a chance, let me know details. Thanks.

I got them from a mini dealer. I remember the dealer is at the Kowloon side, right beside a BMW dealer. My mistake... the price should be 280HKD each (35USD).

For all four trim pieces, the NewMINIStuff kit comes out to 57.65 GBP after S&H, which is $106.83. I didn't realize the GBP is that strong nowadays.

The OutMotoring option - http://outmotoring.com/tinted_side_r...or_covers.html - seems like a more economical alternative to the OEM parts, although it doesn't look as clean. Any thoughts?

Yea..that's expensive. Shipping (well, really the tax) kills you!

Personally I'm just going to tint them, but if you are doing the Aero Kit and painting it with the moldings this would be the time to dish out the extra money! It'll look sooooo nice. Another option....maybe they can bondo over the holes then paint them?

I think I'm going to try the Outmotoring tint film... I still want to keep the reflector and light, but I wouldn't mind it blending in a bit better.

The only reason i dont want to tint mine, is due to the fact that i want to paint my black trim molding the same as the body color, which is Pepper White. So for my situation even the tint still sticks out against the white body color which doesnt help my situation at all. If i was going to leave my moldings factory black plastic, then tinting them would be the way i would choose to go

I'm gonna shoot the reflectors with some tint spray, and if they don't turn out well, I'll be ordering the OutMotoring pieces.

Ironically, lots of guys in the UK want the US look with side reflectors in their arches. Why don't you post something on Mini2.com asking for a swap? That way you'd only be paying postage to the UK.

Interesting. Has anyone over there been motivated enough to wire up the bulbs for them too? Or are they just installing the plastic arch?

Umm... I just remember reading a post by a guy who said he liked the US style reflectors.. I'm not sure if there was any wiring ever done.

I would assume that all cars are wired the same regardless of market, but left bulbless. Kinda like the rear fog light (I think).

I may be wrong about all this.

Cody,

If you bondo them but you are asking for trouble. It would be a lot of bondo on a flexable part. Crack. Bondo is not for building up surface, it is for smoothing out the surface. When body work is done correctly there should be hardly any trace of body filler at all, only in the low spots. And that does not mean where the door was caved in
