Interior/Exterior New Mini Sport Carbon Fiber Parts
I contacted New Mini Sport and Coopertuning.de about the carbon fiber parts that they sell. New Mini Sport sells all genuine stuff while Coopertuning sells all carbon fiber look. Just thought I would keep you guys posted. I know I am going to be buying some Carbon Fiber accents for my MCS, and only want the real stuff.
I also want to buy some carbon fiber parts, I've been shopping around for the momo carbon fiber shift **** and brake handle theyre a little pricey. Monster Mini also sells some carbon fiber parts for the engine compartment but I'm not sure if its real or just the look of carbon fiber.
MINI-Madness has some parts being fabricating currently for spec approval:
-Intake plenum and "tubing"
-Intake heatshield
-Cowl scoop (driver's side)
-Intercooler difusser
-etc
Just a few tidbits to keep you drooling. It's all the real stuff. Being made by a company that makes things like drive shafts for real Scooby racers. So it's top quality and stong. No official word out on them yet as we are still waiting to see how the test batch comes out and what the cost scenario will be. I'll be sure to let everyone know the second it's available.

For my Saab a full dash with real carbon fiber cost $170. The MINI dash is looking like it will be waaaaay more than that.

davebret, now that you are in the Madness loop, can you send out news emails? I lost count of the number of times I checked the Madness site for the "January Anouncements"! Some of us can't wait to get this stuff and it's frustrating to keep checking with the sites!
Definitely, definitely guys. I'll be working on "newsletters" for new product announcements and/or announced products that are now available for purchase. I can't wait to get that going as there is a BUNCH of new stuff about to be available. I'm also going to be revamping the website. Updating product announcements with up to date info, creating a different new product survey format, ect. If you have any thoughts about products you'd like to see come to market by all means let me know. Once I have the site retooled a bit I'll post a new topic in this forum and the performance forum asking for input for what everyone would like to see. Poor George has just been swamped dealing with all this himself. We appologize if information was not being updated as best it could have been. Hopefully that will now be taken care of. If you are an existing Madness customer look for a newsletter/email in the near future. Or drop me a PM if you'd like to be added to the contact list.

>>Cowl scoop?
Sorry, perhaps not the best description. It's for the vent under the windshield/windscreen on the driver's side to force air down into that cowl area for the intake to use. This part is still in development, but others are much further along the prototype path. Size and shape are still being worked out. And I know Randy is looking to do something of the same variety.

Sounds nice Davbret. Add me to the list. If you need any help with anything, I will try and help you out. I have some graphics programs that could be of use. Just a thought. Keep us updated!
Carbon Fiber is a fabled high price product, actually carbon fiber is really inexpensive, comparatively.
May I suggest NEVER lay it up like fiberglass, that makes it weighty and fragile.
Get a GOOD Vacuum system and reliable pre-saturated Carbon Fiber... this will look like stiff rubber. If done correctly, all you will need to do is drill holes when you are finished! No need for messy post cure trimming.
Good Luck, and if you need anything let me know!
