Oh pooh!!

That's a pretty weird spot. Once it's fixed you'll never notice the difference.
Still it makes you mad.

Ouch, space blue doesn't like that!

Well, take solace knowing that if someone did that intentionally their karma will have them driving a Geo the rest of their life.

Good luck with the repairs.

No that's definetly a door mark. a key doesn't dent the paint. Just by some **** who doesn't give a crap about their own car or has the courtesy to care about anyone elses.

That's a shame. Almost like the door of a jacked-up pick-em-up got you. Try a paintless dent place and see if they can get it flat. Might buff out after that. Here's to quick repairs, what ever it takes.

that looks tough to do PDR. the shape of the dent.

also, you'll have to drill through the door jam inorder to access that
area with PDR tools. there are walls inside there (as i found out
myself) from the door side and from the fender side.

Definitly a ding from an SUV opening their door. I'd be willing to put money on it.

You might be able to reach it via the taillight opening. I had a dent in the same general area (it's been a while), and I watched the dent guy take out the taillight to access the area. Just trying to be hopeful...get that repaired soon, and enjoy your MINI!

^^ yeh, it might be high enough to clear the fuel filler hose and
close enough to reach from the back. i'll take my tail light out
to see for myself later on.

I think the same, that it was a careless person with an SUV or a Pick Up. But is pretty deep, and im not sure I could fix it anytime soon.:(

It looks like it was hit with something small and pointy. With the location on your MINI and the shape of the dent , I'm guessing it's from the back corner of the back door of an SUV, where it comes to a point between the vertical part and where it curves forward to go around the fender. That'd also explain how high the hit is, without hitting any of the lower areas of the MINI that stick out further. Probably some dumba** kid throwing the door open to get out.

i pulled out the tail light and was able to have limited access to that
area. i had to use my hail rod to reach down there but as long as it is
higher than the gas cap area you can reach it to about half way to
the door. any ding lower then the gas cap will require a puller or
access from the door jam by drilling a hole.

There is something that looks like a SRS sensor/switch near the tail light
opening... would suck if it triggered the side airbags accidentally by a
PDR tech getting his tool caught up on it. jk i wasn't about
to push/pull it to see if it would activate with the car off...

I REALLY feel your pain! Same thing happened to my baby a few weeks back only much lower. PDR won't fix it as there is a deep gouge in the paint. Took mine to a body shop. A week and a half and $400 later, all better!
