Looking for 05 Taillight Alternatives

My De-Chroming is almost complete and I'm having a hard time finding cool taillights for my 05. I've looked at the 3M film, but would like something different. Any suggestions (Websites, Pics etc...) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

How about these, I bet the company has something similar out for the 05s by know, I've seen some similar on 05s, if you can get your hands on the last copy of Go MINI magazine there was an article on a guy with a black 05 MCS that had something similar they look very good on a car with black IMO.

Now seriously, email this guy:
http://www.tintedtails.com/

John is a way way cool guy and will do your own tails for around $130 if I remember correctly. I have seen his work in person and it is top notch. He will also do sidemarkers, arch reflectors, headlights, etc, etc

FWIW... or IMHO... etc... sorry, im a little drunk. i kept pushing enter.... in any case, i'm not sure what techniques you've used in dechroming your baby but i'm trying to do the same, some what.

i like those sticker lens thing-a-ma-bobbers... i can send you a pic of what ive done. or look in my gallery. i'd recommend letting a shop do it, costs more but they seem to do a much better job than those precut stickers.

id really like to do what this guy did:
http://www.lawrenceotoole.com/mini/mini.html
he painted his rear lenses w/ "smoke out" tint/paint then clear coated over them. ive seen it on several different kinds of cars and it has a really nice custom look to it while staying oem.

i personally am not a fan of those "altezza" styling lights. something about ripping off styling from another car, thus the title: "altezza" lights. (just in case, fyi: altezza=japanese name for the first lexus is 300) plus i like to customize. id love to see your dechroming process!!!

or you can take the lens off of the light housing, paint the chrome and put it back together! i don't know... just a drunken ramble.
good luck w/ the black out...

motor on- i guess we're middle aged so a little slow to respond to the
trend...like by 5 years. jk but about 10 years ago those
'Altezza' style euro tails started popping up everywhere.

these days kids seem to be tired of those and now starting to use
regular tails but smoke them out...like how the muscle guys did back
in the late 80's on their camaro's, etc.

my wife takes me shopping (don't dare to decline such date, or else... )
and i notice that fashion cycles every 15-20 years.

I think a set of tail lights off a Lotus with a custom mount (vertically) would look pretty cool, just lots of custom work. There LED too.

I cannot decide between these:
$230

- OR -

$53

None of the websites ever say anything about these fitting 'o6's...have the dimensions changed since the o4-o5 ?

No but the light layout has, for you to use either of those on a 05+ you would have to relocate the reverse to the bumper like the 02-04s or remove the reverse light completely.
