Morgan

Just saw this in AutoWeek. Note the headlights, and turn signal lights. It's the "new and improved" Morgan Aero 8 Series III.

I think it will take more than this to improve the looks.

I have an 05 Morgan Aero 8 for sale here at my dealership here, and that thing is god awful ugly. The interior is horrible, the exterior is horrible, and to top it off, it has a BMW powerplant.

But the headlamps dont look anything like the MINIs headlamps.

The earlier Aero had headlamps borrowed from the VW new beetle. The MINI Xenon headlamps came later.

You can't buy them for $300 stand alone. New, anyway....

Yah, but even new, what are they? 800 tops. That's still no where near what the car would cost....thats a pretty good condition Gti with the four-round grille up front, you could get a decent buck for it.

And heck....they need to have the MINI wheels custom machined to fit.

I dont know...the statement was an exaggeration....but i much prefer a set of wheels close to the cost of the car to the current MINI cooper trend of having wheels that cost LESS than the stock wheels. Look at how many people own motegis, exels, fliks, etc.:impatient

wrong hub bore.....ours are 56.1 and theirs are 57.1. The VW's you see running around with MINI wheels have had the wheels bored out a little extra to get them to fit.

I don’t have a pic, but on the last live Barrett/Jackson auto auction there was a hot rod that used Mini door panels.

Putting Mini lights on a hot rod has really caught on . I saw two different rods at the local show with them last weekend. If I didn't have a mini myself I would never have recognized them.

When you see MINI parts on hot rods, that's cool. When you see them on something like a Scion, it's pretty disgusting. It's been discussed before and I don't want to get back on a Scion vs. MINI debate again

Seems to be pretty dumb to me. They even turned it upside down to avoid looking like a MINI-wannabe.
