Carbon Fiber...I love this stuff and I dont mean for cars in particular,I've used it for many years on my radio controlled models...my cars, boats and some of my helicopters whole frames are made from this great stuff! It saves alot of weight and adds alot of strength not to mention well made carbon fiber is beutiful just to look at. So why do us car guys like it?...sure some may say my carbon fiber hood makes my car lighter and faster...com on now...while that may be true it is'nt why you bought it...you bought cause it screams that high tech cutting edge look! If you just wanted the other benifits you could use much less exspensive materials with the same qualitys such as G-10...G-10 is a military developed material that is actually as strong as carbon fiber and less brittle..why don't we use that stuff?...cause it's plain ugly!... It comes in flat black and olive drab green! What I am trying to say is theres nothing wrong with buying carbon fiber for just how it looks...can you go too far with it?....not in my opinion,Ive seen race cars that almost the entire car is made outta this stuff...even frame pieces!, but not for looks of course. My advice...buy all you can!...just dont put a 3 foot high double decker spoiler on the back of your MINI!

I love the stuff as well. It would look great on a Dark Silver/Black Mini. Too bad peope people on this site don't really believe in it that much. I have posted topics about carbon fiber before. Most people say that it woukd be "RICE". Who cares, if I can add something that looks better, and actually is better, then who are they to judge.

I agree!! Carbon fiber is the shiz-nit!

I've got a DS/B MCS and will be adding carbon fiber bits as decent things become available. Would like to do the dash, but don't like the current kits on the market. They don't include the door ovals, which are critical I feel.

Albert just sent me 3 carbon fiber looking "S" stickers to replace the red "S" on my MCS. Wooo hoo!!! Will post pictures in a few days after I can wash my dirty beast.

I'll also be looking at the hood scoop, gear shift and other assorted interior bits. Would also love to see some underhood dress-up and functional elements as well.

.... i like the looks of kevlar as well ... but for CF or aramids to be of any use, they have to have a substancial weight advantage over the plastics that make up the interiors now ... their strength advantages are not important for interior panels so to make the cost worthwhile, you'ld have to make those pretty things really light ...

2 layers of cf is more than enough for the interiors... and from the prices I've seen on the interior kits... it's going to cost about the same.

also, I can make single solid color interiors out of intrensically colored material... = no scratch

if that's of interest...let me know

... yeah ... it's just me ... i like things to function well, as well as look good - for something to go on my car, it has to function better than what's there ... and if it looks better too, that's a bonus.

Mighty, if your gonna make the interior stuff, have it be a replacement. Personally, I don't want to pay a lot for a sticker if you know what I am saying. I want to see the new light so bad Mighty.
