Interior/Exterior "Official" MINI exhaust tips ?
"Official" MINI exhaust tips ?
Hi motorers
My minds may be playing tricks on me, but I think I saw here a "new" part from MINI a little while ago...
I was new exhaust tips that changes the small stock ones...
Anyone has a part number for those, if they exist?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just bid on those on eBay. A set from Morristown MINI.
Exhaust Tips
I just purchased and installed the official replacement exhaust tips on my MCS. The stock exhaust tips are each attached with a hex set screw. Loosen the screw, slip off the stock tip, slip on the replacement tip, and tighten its set-screw. A five minute job that my dealer wanted $22 for (plus $99 for the exhaust tips). As the stock tips mount identically to the replacement tips, why doesn't MINI offer the replacement tips as an option when ordering, especially as so many other things are so customizable on the car. (But then they probably couldn't charge as much).
Hmmm, this looks a lot like the Cooper tips I put on my MCS a couple of years ago.

<edit> I should tack on a disclaimer about using the optional Cooper tips. When I did this, there was not a part for the MCS, so I had to weld up a couple of adapters to fit the Cooper diameter tip to the MCS diameter exhausts. On the first try, I used steel tubing to make the adapters, but that lead to a continual rust problem. I finally found stainless steel parts online at Burns Stainless. The bottom line is, the new tips that fit the MCS are worth the price compaired to what I went through.

Great job with the painting them black... they look much better that way!!
I got them from OutMotoring:

I painted the insides as well. The light color they come with discolors badly from the water in the exhaust. Pic is pre-painting. I just used flat black model paint - it's still on there.

Chrome Exhaust Tip Cooper S (Set of 2)
Item #82 12 0 410 150 ($99 dealer price)
I did order these with my MCS, but ended up installing them myself for the sake of time... (painting them black? = so stolen!

install: 1 allen wrench, five minutes, and a mirror (i was lazy so i laid the mirror on the ground to see the hole...)

Make sure you secure them with some lock-tite at the very least. Experience has taught me that the allen bolts alone are not guaranteed to hold them in place.

(I have a spare tip if anyone needs it

yes-- i remember your post, and i cringed. and now i try to check my bolts every couple weeks
i almost lost mine too
i noticed one of my tips looked misaligned and it had actually come loose. when i tried tightening it, the allen screw just kept spinning. the screw had actually widened the hole that it was supposed to be set in. so basically, i now have to go to a muffler shop and have them welded on. so if you are considering buying these tips, make sure not to overtighten!
