Blue Eyes from a Distance?

Just curious, every time I pass by the Audi's (both day and night), if their HID headlights are on, I will see them (from RVM) in white from a close distance. But when the distance increases, their lights turn more blue. Wonder whether our HIDs are the same, the on-coming drivers see our HIDs in blue from a distance? Any difference between the reflective (pre-05) and the projector type (05-06)?

those are projector xenon, i think it's the cut off point that the projector creats to give you that blue and white distinction you are seeing. i crave for the 05 lights too !

i think 6000 should be the max, because if you go over that, it starts looking funky. I like the blue, not the purple look.

Kinda un-related, but it would be cool if someone came up with the Angel eyes for the MINIs... I thought maybe the newer headlamp style would permit. I love those!

Are there any headlamp bulbs that will give you more blue/white? I guess I need to do a search. I wouldn't mind changing out my bulbs!

Yes I know we can replace the OEM HID bulb to some more blue aftermarket one. But I was asking whether anyone knows if the OEM one we have will look blue from a distance as well, like I saw those on the Audi (assuming theirs are OEM as well)?

I think its a very whitish blue (05/06 HIDs)

But from the driver's seat its more like a whitish yellow.
