I have some deep scratches on my roof from a bike that fell off. It is going to cost $850 to fix..... I'm thinking of changing the color from Black to something else..... Oh, the car is Dark Silver do we have creative photoshop folks?

Either Moss Mini or Mini Mania (or somebody) offers a chrome roof piece that covers the whole roof with highly polished chrome.

There are several in my gallery but I wish they would not lock out the pictures but that is another thread.

Would you probably paint the rear spoiler too or leave it black?

check out cooperflags or similar graphic vendor, do a vynl, then if you want to change it in the future all you have to do is peel it off, and they can make just about any design for you.

I think I agree with you...... I took the roof rack off yesterday and the car looks much sleeker and is a lot quieter inside at all speeds...... I may do some "piano" black in the interior but probably not before the "Dragon."

I like the idea of chrome because you could blind all the people in escalades, navigators and hummers as you go whizzing past them. But on the downside you would be blinding commercial drivers in semis and buses too, and that would be less fun.

Actually I am not a fan of chrome, so I would say if you like black go back to it, if you want a change, matching body color looks very nice too. Not sure what other colors would look good on yours. Maybe do a GP rip off and paint the roof red and do matching red mirrors. Red adds HP right?

With the cost and opportunity I would definately favor getting a non-stock color to make the car unique. Perhaps someone with PS could play with some colors a complimentary graphics - perhaps a dark metallic blue? DS and a rich red go well together too but I have a feeling that would be too much for you. Its worth playing with anyway - if you want to stick with the OEM look at least get the roof in a metallic black

Actually, the car was DS/White and was painted before I bought it with metallic black..... very nice look...... unless someone comers up with something "killer" I am going back to the metallic black..... I have the opportunity and want to explore.

I've thought about it. My hyper blue would look cool with a Ferrari red roof, I think! Below pic is of a MCS at my local dealer (hyper blue with orange). Started life with a white top.

Did you end up doing vinyl, or did you get it re-sprayed?

I am a bit late to this thread but did you have any luck repainting your roof? Our mini is pure silver with black roof and for whatever reason swarms of insects have stained the black roof (strange I know!) so I want to get it repainted. Are you going to the dealer for paint?

"A BIT late"??? Only 11 months!

Still, you must have done a pretty good search to dig this up from that long ago. Nice shot!
