Making OEM shift **** heavier?

Okay, so I just did the Helix SS kit install and I must say that the required effort to shift is substantially more. I was thinking of a way to reduce this and I remembered that people with the whalen claim that it makes their shifts easier. Unfortunately, I don't like the look of the whalen and I actually really like the OEM shift ****. Is there anyway to make the OEM shift **** heavier?

I dont know for sure but I don't think so, its plastic isnt it? There are tons of shift ***** out there, I'm sure you can find a **** that is similar but metal core. Check out www.ltbmotorsports.com, they have MOMO ***** for the best price Ive found and also sell the same ***** for cheaper on ebay.

Is the inside of the shiftknob hollow? Could you fill it with like liquid cement or something?

Its all about the MOMO. Finally, a post that is not dedicated to Whalens, and thats purpose is to find cheaper and stylish alternatives.

ive been using MOMO stuff on my previous modded cars and
have been great so far. (steering wheels, hubs, *****, etc).

i still think the best shift **** so far has been GReddy's GREX *****.
they don't look right on a MINI so i don't use them on my MCS, but
they sure feel good. weighted and perfect size (the non ball ones below).

I just took a gander at the Momo shift ***** and they do look nice, but $100 for a shift **** is too rich for me. I think I'll just go to the gym and work my right bicep and tricep only so that I can shift faster. Plus, going to the gym has fringe benefits. The view is quite nice.

did you check out ltbmotorsports.com? There are many from $50 to $70 if I remember correctly, especially if you go to the ebay store. If you want an easier shift the other option is increasing the height of the shift **** itself, a cheap but tall **** would make it much easier. I used one that brought the height back to that of the stock **** but because of the short shifter still showed improvement. Eventually I went back to a low/short ball shifter though, you really get used to the increased effort.

Yea, increasing the height would decrease my effort, but would defeat the whole reason for using the helix which was to have a cheap Short Shifter that maintained the stock height. I'm thinking I'll just get used to the required effort although some of the momo shift ***** did look nice.
