yeah ,that's the only reason i did it. just to match the jet black paint. i tell you one mod i should have done differently though. i should have gotten black rims instead if chrome. that would have really set the car off .especially with the yellow callipers.

Meh. Still looks funky to me with the black rims. DarkER, anthracite, so that the wheels catch a few highlights while not being all chromed out, yes - from what I've seen, that still gives the dark look but retains the complexity of the wheel spokes to the eyes. Without a catch light, the wheels dissappear visually into black holes.

But, to each their own, right?

I have the hardware to light it up, but have yet to do that part of it. I don't like the idea of seeing any wires, and haven't come up w/ a satisfactory solution yet.....

Hmmm... what about a bit of matte vinyl tape, wrapped around the shaft with the wires beneath? I'd like to see one of these actually lit up - yours is the first one I've actually seen installed (that I recall, anyway). Where did you get it? I know I've seen the site on here someplace...

www.flameball.com is where I bought mine. The difficult part of wiring this thing up, is the "worm hole" where you insert the l.e.d. or bulb is actually off center. It's kind of hard to explain but this hole is approximately 3/4" off the shifter itself. I can feel the hole with my fingers when I grip the shifter ball.
