Wow, that's nice!

Sure didn't take you long to insert the wood; I just mailed that sucker on Saturday!!

Now that I see the finished product, I'm imagining the possibilities....

Another MOMO...

My MOMO Silver Combat...I used my Dremel to trim the collar then a drill press to enlarge the MOMO collar and the **** slides down just a tad lower than stock. The silver and the black look factory.

Sweet #13, ImagoX. Oh boy, this site is dangerous. Yet another mod I'm going to do because I was surfing the threads...

Nice pics, folks! Gonna get me a 2 ball too! That is, if I don't find something in my house first...

LOL... no need to steal them. I got my shifter ball on a site called HotRodGirl.com. It came pre-drilled perfectly for the shift shaft (just a wee bit larger) along with a rubber boot (which I discarded as it was too large to fit inside the ball when applied to the shaft). I tried a few things to put it on (friction tape, etc.), none of which worked then just squirted a dab of silicone sealent (like you use to seal bathtubs or fish tank glass) into the hole. About 1/4 or 1/3 of the hole filled is PLENTY. Push down till the excess squirts out, wipe off with a paper towel and allow to dry overnight and it's all good! It feels totally vibration damped because of the silicone and has just enoug wiggle that I can tell I'll be able to get it of if I really want (unlike Epoxy). HotRodGirl sells any and every pool ball as a shifter ****.

i didn't steal it . i was just kidding about that. i went to a billiards store and bought it. i did pretty much the same work you did besides the silicone. works great though . plus it matches my jet black paint!

How the heck did you drill it? I may want another one some day, or I may want to drill out the hole on the one I have so I can use the rubber boot.

i put it in a vise with some soft cloth around it, tightened it down, found the center , and drilled it.i can't remember the dimension of the bit. it was the same diameter as the shaft though . i then reemed it out a little for a tight fit.i think the bit was a half or 5/8 's carbide drill bit. the drill bit was more expensive then the eight ball.like sixteen bucks or something. total cost was around thirty bucks. the eight ball was suprisingly easy to drill through.it wasn't nearly as dense as i thought.

supposedly , you just brace yourself and pull very hard. in my case i hacksawed about 2 inches off cause i wanted a lower profile.

You don't even need to pull THAT hard... Just be careful that it doesn't go flying when it releases. I just put one knee on the front seat, leaned over and imagined I was lifting a dumbell - it came loose pretty easy. Just pull straight up, you don't need to twist at all. there's a notch at the top of the shaft that you'll need to put back in if you hacksaw it like the poster above and ever want to replace the stock ****, be warned.

Here's mine as seen in MC2. Mr Whalen was nice enough to over night it to me just in time for the photo shoot.

the 8-ball is a classic though...

With black on black I bet it looks pretty sweet.
