you should also either black out or pw the side repeaters/grills, door handles and gas cap.
you can check pics of em in my gallery.
ill be changin handles and gas cap to pw once i get pw vinyl from lyle from vinylstyles.

but you should only black/pw them only if you dont like the chrome.
i personally dont like the chrome. my gf does. after i painted my headlights she was like 'why'd you do that?? i liked the chrome....' and i was like...since when?? :impatient
oh well. i love wat i've done to my car so far.

I'm way ahead of you, I had a set of door handles in my hand when Lyle came to S.D. I had put together a "West Coast Mini group" vinyl day and Lyle had brought me a set but, I backed out because I just didn't want to tackle the install. In hind sight I should have just bought them and waited until I had the gut's to tackle the project. Door handles, repeaters and gas cap are on the list. It's been my goal to remove all chrome. I'm getting there.

blacked out the cooper badges

Ok, finally got pics up used black reflective on the COOPER portion left the S red for now. Just did the top of the letters (that's why you see some chrome) I'll probably buy a new badge flat black it all and then do the reflective on the top again.

Or who did the work on that thing to smooth out the vents and back up light? It looks good. Different, but good.
I would make a custom diffuser for that thing

Lol diffuser on such a clean car? That would ruin the look i think.....he tends to go for a more euro look it seems.

It's an oem bumper smoothed out.

Ahh, yes I do agree with your point Rally. It could just ruin the look.

I was also going to ask, if he had any updated interior pics. I only see one seat in there...

You can order the badging from:

Bimmian.com

I removed mine as well, also got the side repeaters without the S.
I have a custom R53 on the front and that is the only identifier other than the mini F/R badge.

I used a heat gun to loosen up the letters and then they pop right off, wipe down with alcohol and then polish for a smooth shine!

Be careful with the heat gun method since to much heat can ruin the paint.

Best of luck, welcome to the club.

Hey RallyMINI,

That ride is pretty crazy, I was wondering about the wheels and suspension setup, what is running on the car?

Those look wider than 7.5.
Did you need to make adjustments to the fenders in order for them to fit?

I dunno....thats not my car. But i personally modified my fenders to fit my 8.5 inch wheels if that's what you're asking about.

I've been wondering about the wheel sin your sig
Those look really sick, what was needed in order to do so?
You have any full pics of your set up.
I'm planning a few mods as winter projects:
Oil Catch Can
Oil Cooler kit
A-Pillar Gauge pod W/Oil Pressure and temp Gauges.

and hope to have my car running lower on a new coilovers/Camber Plates and end links by next spring.

What set up are you running with and how do you like it?
That car you posted is nice though!

I removed the COOPER, but left the S on... I thought about moving the S over a few inches to center it between the plate surround and the edge of the hatch, but I decided to just leave it alone. Picture is at a recent track day at Road America.

In a fit of boredom, I decided to go for it...

(If any one cares), I have also written up a detailed step-by-step account of the process on my blog:

I did a search, and realized my effort was not represented. If you wait long enough you'll get a little "shadow" of the letters etched into the paint.
Those 2 little buttons are painted dark silver now to better integrate and are not so obvious.

It feels good doesn't it ! The day I did it I was reading all these post about people doing this mod and just got up from the computer, went to the garage and DID IT ! I really like the look. I'm always trying to be a little different then the next guy (or gal) in some way. Nice pictures on how it's done. I never thought about the tape though ! I just flossed each one and put them in with the rest of the stuff I've taken off the car or replaced.

Does the carmax logo look like it's just vinyl? Best way to remove that is just to heat it up and peel slowly.
