Looks like it's basically a custom-formed plastic bin made of good quality material. I don't have one (or my MINI until next month) but can easily see the advantage of this for someone who uses the hatch area to move a lot of stuff around.

The OEM rubber trunk liner is pretty much the same - plus you can get it with an 'S' instead of the Mini logo

I have the basic MINI one, as shown in eVal's photo. I had a Jeep one in my Jeep Cherokee as well (before I sold it to get a MINI ). It's easy to vacuum and wash. Great if you're likely to get dirt or sand in the boot, or if you transport anything wet, or potentially leaky (jugs of water, groceries).

I was not aware of the availability of this one with the EXTENSION! I wonder why on earth my husband (transporter of large sloppy dogs) doesn't have one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yucca ?

The other one does seem to have a deeper boot liner...might this be better (maybe I am imagining it)?

Not spill proof...

i just got the MINI factory mat for my '06 convertible (convertible boots are slightly different so they take different sized trays) and I noticed that it has four notches molded into the front & back side lip for the tie downs. Fit is great and it looks sharp but I wouldn't count on it keeping liquids contained. They are great for keeping dirt out of the boot, though, and I was mainly interested in keeping crud from entering the battery tray below. But if you're looking for 'spillproof' you might want to take a closer look at the aftermarket unit.

I would really like to know this too. Would it be possible to use the boot part that I posted (deeper?) with the extender that was posted? Anyone know?
