I still haven't had a chance to do mine. Out of town last weekend then cold and raining this weekend... and I don't have a garage

I'll post pics when it's finally done.

It is worth all the time it takes to do it. Be sure to get any residue off the chrome line before the install and take your time...

Here's my finished product - this is from 6 months or so ago when I lived in FL. I love what the black belt line does for the car. It's much more integrated.

And here's one in the sun after some zaino with the top down -

Mine is done! Pics will come after she gets a bath but it looks really, really nice.

Onyl question is... does this stuff come off? I like it and will keep it on for the rest of the time I have the car but she won't be mine forever. Just curious.

Trade for....

I have a WHOLE lot of extra Prostripe Semi Gloss left over.

If you want to trade some of your LO GLOSS black vinyl tape from Terry's Auto Supply let me know.

I want to see which one I like better.

Now what do I do to black out those chrome tail pipe tips ?

Aftermarket exhaust!

If you don't want to do all of that, just get new tips. I believe MINI was selling different tips now if you really want to stay OEM. Get them powdercoated black.

To me, the blacked out belt line looks good on almost any color car, except black, which needs the chrome to separate the upper and lower sections of the car. Colors lighter than black (like - all of them), can have this separation achieved with a black line.

After you stick it on. Before you try to work the little creases out of the edge, run and grab your girls hair dryer. Put some low heat on it as you work the creases out. It should come out flawless with little effort.

Steady pressure. Not too much pull or you will make the tape narrower then the trim Start with some overlapped onto the door trim, that way you'll have more helping to hold it down as you pull. It'll take a little practice but it's not bad.

When you're done step back and check for any spots of the chrome showing on the bottom edge. :impatient Then redo it with that in mind Or you could just watch for that too as you do it.

Good luck - you'll like it

It's there. I have the M7 black mesh grill and it has bigger holes so it looks a little transparent from a very certain angle.

see.. there it is!

Ah! I see. Well.... not really, but I believe you. A club member's car that I saw yesterday has the M7 mesh grills, so I know what you're talking about.

nice mod but i think your black mini would look better with the chrome accents. this is probably a must for those with pepper white, red, or those nonmetalic colored cars.

Hey guys!!

Do any of you know the total length of the belt line?? I'm trying to figure out how many cars a 150' roll could do!! I don't have my MINI with me or I would go measure it! Thanks in advance

I would say a minimum of four. Probably more like five or six, but you want to have some left over for touch ups later in case any gets damaged like mine has along the windshield.
