I have a great idea for JCW Enthusiasts!

I saw tonight, when I got the new GOMINI magazine, that a guy in there had a JCW sticker on his dash, that was clearly alloy pantina. My idea takes it one step further:
Get a JCW badge from your dealer
Get some sort of epoxy
Glue it right under your passenger side air vent(the one right next to your speedo).

I'm doing it and I think it will add a JCW/neat feeling to the interior. Since the only thing we can get over here is the ricey Carbon Fiber dash, and shiftlights.

Just throwing an idea out there!

Mikey

BTW I should have mine installed sometime next week with pics to follow.

Sounds cool, looking forward to seeing how it turns out. I may end up doing it too... I recommend you try your best to put it in EXACTLY the same place as the actual JCW dash displays it... but it sounds like you're doing that already. Only thing is, the JCW decal may be larger.

When I finally get my MCS JCW, I'm going to debadge everything from the car. I like the minimalisitic look. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

My guess is that it will drive the same with or without badges.

Mikey, I know your a JCW enthusiast but have you actually seen, in person, a JCW dash? Is so, why do you think its "ricey"?

b/c every ricer I hang out with has some sort of cf on their car. I was not referring to the dash as much as the shiflight, etc..

The dash is nice but just not my taste, (I have sat in one that had it).

I think I might be able to get on cheaper through a guy I bought my CRAPPY strut brace from on ebay, I actually think he said he makes them for them. I check and get back with you guys!

The shift light is just a lame idea. If you got to look at some lights to know your RPMs, your in trouble. Just idiot lights.

The dash is actually awesome. Although JCW bits and pieces are certainly CRAP (from what I've read today), they integrate well with the other CF pieces and those pieces (although CRAPPY), are well made. Expensive, yes. But once you got one, you will never go back to the stock one (IMO).

For that matter, the upcoming WING in CF probably is a bit much

Shift lights are almost a necessity when your are driving at a track day or any other event that req's wearing a helmet. You can't hear the engine and the visual cues given by the shift lights are really beneficial.

I don't care for the JCW version, wrong location and not really bright enough, but it is a very good idea for those that like to track their car.

And since they originated from their challenge series ... maybe thats why they are selling them. However for the 99% of people who don't ... they are still lame looking to me.

I think the shift light is a bit unnecessary, even for track use, since it is positioned right above the tachometer which serves as a perfectly adequate shift light.

On the track, I can hear my MINI's engine just fine with my helmet on. . .

But I do think it is kind of cool if you like little nifty gizmos, and I'm a guy that usually likes little nifty gizmos

If it works for you then it is great.

Edit: oops! Posted this with my wife's account. . . Yucca Patrol here
