Lights to match xenons on MINI OEM Rally Lights??

Does anyone know a good bulb that will fit the OEM rally lights that are blue/whitish to match xenons...or at least as closely as they can? Thanks.

The bulbs should be H3s. Might be hard to find to match the color.

Try http://www.piaa.com and look at the H-3 Super Plasma GT-X bulb.

Also do I need the 35WATT or 55WATT?

And what is this little chord hanging off of it?

No just google "PIAA h3 Super Plasma GT-X" and you will get dozens of hits. they aren't going to be cheap.

55 watt.

Are you sure? Well pull your bulb out and look at it. DO NOT touch the bulb, use a cotton glove or papertowerl. If the little wire is there, its H3. What year is your car. My manual says H3. Look in the manual. I doubt its anything else.

Oh and what he said is true. If your looking for MORE light your not going to get it. You will be getting LESS light. See http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...e/bad/bad.html
and the other tech articles on Sterns website. I confirmed this with a speed shop who also said I would get LESS light with PIAAs or any Fake HID.

If you want LIGHT, leave stock alone.

If you want bling, go with the PIAAs.

You can also get 85 watt bulbs. I put them in my PIAA 540's after consulting with PIAA about the sturdiness of their wiring harness!

I think that wire hanging off of it is just for grounding purposes.

Yup, PIAA sells 85 watt kits with upgraded wiring. In fact, you get 100 watt H3s too. Just make sure you get your OWN wiring that is sufficient to the power or you may have a fire!

DO NOT put 85 or higher watt bulbs into the OEM MINI Lamps, big mistake. Also, anything more than 55 watts is ILLEGAL in most every state (except for offroad). Will you get stopped, who knows, who cares. You pay your money and take your chances/

Oops thanks chows4us! I did forget to mention that the 85watt bulbs would most likely fry the OEM MINI rally light harness. . .. Don't get those unless you have aftermarket lights and KNOW that the wiring harness can handle it.

A second Option

As a second option, Ive been looking closely at the aftermarket lighting, mostly for a set of fogs. But, regarding xenons.

So everyone is aware, you can get aftermarket Xenon lamps to either replace the driving lights or add another set or a set of fogs

either Hella http://www.hellausa.com or piaa http://www.piaa.com sell them. They aint cheap.

But don't you think Xenon Driving light and Xenon Fogs would be the absolute end? Of course, they are going to cost a pretty penny and I would be concerned about them getting ripped off.

I used Hella 500's

I used Hella 500's to supplement my factory fogs. They look great, have an ABS body so no rust and can be upgraded to 100W if I like. See my pics in the fog light thread. I wired mine independantly so I can use them whenever.

The more light the merrier!!
