Yes, it is expensive, again, cheap=less quality/no quality.
the other after market c/f is not cheap either, but hell it looks nice.

I look at it this weigh (pun intended)
If you are sporting, oh say, about 4 to 5% body fat THEN start worrying about the weight you are saving on the car by using carbon fiber. Until then, it is only for looks. I love riding with guys (I am a cyclist) that sit there and talk about this crankset or brakeset saving them 10 to 20 grams and they are about 15-20 lbs. overweight! What a stinking joke!
(Needless to say I am NOT one of those cyclists concerned about the weight of parts as I go about 190 lbs. and 10 to 20 grams will not help me climb with guys that weight 135!
)

)I was as obsessed about bikes and weight. I weigh 155 at 5'10" and I can't climb worth a darn
What I can't figure out is why add caps to the mirrors. I would change to a CF mirror body but not a "cap"

while in the front third of a climbing pack on a very hard training ride.) so I just don't get the obsession with weight any longer (Hello DA cranks on an otherwise full Campy Moots!)Getting back on track, I don't understand the CF caps for the mirrors either, but to each their own I suppose. I also find it funny that alot of the people complaining about the weight of CF for appearance sake, have things like sunroofs, IPods, 30 lbs of excess stereo equipment and such. But as I said before, to each their own.
One more thing, join us in OT for Tour talk if you are a cyclist!
Say mdsbrain the rear CF tail latch you purchased from Classic Mini, is that the John Cooper Works latch handle? Cause that's a great price if it is. I am very tempted to get one if that's so, I have purchased a number of items from Classic Mini, their service and pricing are outstanding
.
Let me know, thanks

I will post pics of the install on my blog later today. The hardest part of the install was connecting the wire. The wire coming out of the car is about 1/2" long when it would of helped to of been 1" long.
A 5 min install with one person took 2 people 30min
there is a 5 piece on there, free shipping... two days left.. right now its at $50 dollars....
somebody should jump on this.. you could probably get yours for 200 or so!
I got mine for 250 from this guy.

Keep in mind that there's no significant weight savings to be had with *any* of the JCW pieces, because they're all carbon fiber over ABS plastic, not solid carbon fiber.
That being said, they look great and the quality of the clearcoat is top-notch. I have the hood scoop, mirror backs, dash, downtubes, cupholder trim rings, shifter trim ring and rear hatch handle.
I'm a little hesitant about ordering those off of eBay, because the price is so low. I'm also a bit interested, because the price is so low. How many of you guys have ordered this stuff and how was your experience? The guy seems to have pretty good feedback.
