My head always turns when I here something about a MINI mentioned on TV, and it's always the ad for the G-Whiz. I always had hoped it were fake, or just some silly, fun MINI advertising, but alas, the end always showed one of thoe mail order companies and I was forced to believe they were serious. I'd consider buying a G-Whiz for the fun of it if it were a LOT cheaper.

It's a joke guys, get with it.
They are part of MINI's advertising campaign. I have seen the commercials and they are quite funny. Due to legal reasons though, you can not advertise a phony product and not sell it, so they actually have to sell the products (or so an article on morotingfile.com said). It's part of the parody. Think of it like Spinal Tap, is it a parody, or are they a real band? Where does one end and the other begin? That's part of the fun, is is a joke or is it real? Goes with the whole fun identity of the MINI!
I think it's great that the MINI's so popular that they don't need to do "real" advertising, and can afford to have fun with it. The shame is that you only see the commercials on obsure cable channels, since they have no need to pay big money to advertise on mainstream, high rated TV.
