Different...

It's nice to be different, but from seeing your pics, I'm not eager to run out and do it on my car. It kind of blurs the transition from hood to grill slats, making them sort of hang out there like ragged gashes (IMHO).

Thanks for posting the pics though, to satify the curious.

I like it too. Can you buy surrounds without the grille slats? I like the smooth ones & would like to retrofit them to my "03...

yeah sure you can here are the part numbers
Bonnet chrome surround : 51137 133845
Bumper chrome surround : 51117 127931
I never liked the rippled surrounds and im not a big fan of chrome
I think this really cleans up the front of my car

Ok, I'm confused. Did you buy spares and paint over the chrome ? I personally like the look. I am wondering what black slats, the smoothed body color sorounds would look like ? Seems much easier than fitting the lower aero grill on the stock bumber ......

I think it is a big improvement over the stock the look really cleans up the front nicely and reduces the visual business of the stock grill. Way to go

yeah I bought two new chrome grille surrounds €65.00 euro
these are from the 05 model where they are flat instead of rippled
I sanded them down to the plastic
applied plastic primer
and sprayed them with 3 coat's of body colour

I like it too. much better than the open mouth look.
On particular colors the chrome is just too intense.

Does anyone know of an aftermarket chrome grill for the aerokit? How about steel mesh for the lower intakes on the front and rear aerokits?

I like it a lot...well done!

I guess this has always been an MCS design peeve of mine....have a full chrome grill, or a full body-colored grill, but mixing the two always seemed off to me. It always seemed such a senseless, gratuitous, and unintigrated use of chrome, although I'll admit it's probably because my brain (or lack thereof) was so stuck in the classic Mini look.

M7 has a lower one out now (I think). And is working on the rears.

Very nice! I was just thinking of doing the same, instead the Areo grill.

How difficult is it to pop off the chrome surrounds?

That looks really sharp on your car. (Don't think it would look as good on my Pepper White.)

I saw a picture of a car with the same grille surrounds from the MTTS pics on www.MINIUSA.com. Was that you?
