Adhesive To Stick Badges Back On?

Hey all, I'm going to peel off the "COOPER" badge on my car to paint it a different color, and I was wondering if anyone has done this...

What would you use to re-apply the badge?

Thanks!
Miles

You can buy 3M double sided foam tape from an auto parts store or large discount store. Works great! Just cut to fit and stick it back on!

I can't seem to find it in retail stores, but the black tape is better than the white. You might be able to drop by a local body shop and see if they will give you a little strip of it.

The hardest part is going to be keeping it straight.

Yeah, I just figured I'd use a level and stick a piece of tape as a horizon line to keep the lettering straight :D

Just make sure the car itself is level first.

I recommend 3M # 06385, it is 1/4 in wide, its a very strong grey foam tape and it makes triming the letters easier.
If the foam backing is intack on the letters 3M # 08069 is an adhesive transfer product that won't require trimming. Just press the letter on the tape then stick it to the car.
Painting those letters is on my list. Don't forget to post pic's.
Good luck.

When I put my stripes on my boot I had to take a few letters off. When time came to put everything back together I taped a plastic ruler under the letters to line everything up. I then used silicone to glue the badges back on. Easy and no cutting .

Interesting, but I think I'd rather use tape or something that can come off again if I want to re-paint, etc.

Where do you find it?

I know that NAPA carries it. If they don't have it in stock they can order it. Also, any Paint and Body supply house should stock the tapes.
