I was looking to order the GP rear bumper trim for my R53. My dealer told me the parts are back ordered…all good but WTF are with the price of the lights ($235 a piece?!) Am I missing something?

Can the fender trim be modified to accept the reflectors/lights from a standard S bumper? I had to modify my aero front bumper to fit the reflectors. Also, I see most reflectors on the rear are orange which isn’t to code, they need to be red. Are there cheaper aftermarket options?

US Reflector lights are the same on all Gen 1 MINIs.

"I had to modify my aero front bumper to fit the reflectors. " Thats because we only have that front bumper in the EURO version, as the US version is NLA fro aftermarket and Genuine.

 

so you’re saying my rear fender reflectors are the same part # for an S bumper as the GP? That’s insane I literally just bought new reflectors to pass my inspection (they were clear when I bought the car and needed to be red). The dealer quoted me a bundle for the part number of the reflectors for the GP trim.

re: aero front bumper. It had clears as well, I changed them to orange. The ordered the part from my vin at the dealer, which is for a standard S bumper and we needed to dremel out 3mm in diameter of the electrical hole for the pins to align but the rest fit perfect in the recessed section.

Clear was aftermarket and not stock for the GP. Stock was red rear and amber/orange fronts.

Looks like I had the euro light part numbers which are orange. I still don’t understand why they are so expensive from mini now? The cost listed on real oem is about 95% less expensive. If I could reuse my lights Id take the plunge but spending $500 on reflectors is a bit much.

The clear is what I had on my car. I had to change them to orange and red.

Any Particular Reason the Left Trim for the GP went on sale?

 

He have one in stock and its on sale due to be on shelf for some time, once sold the price goes back up.
