So ive decided to use Yellow as the accent color on my Island Blue 2022 F56, but im trying to find pictures of painted engine covers to get ideas about using Yellow in my engine bay area. I know they are out there but I didnt get much doing a search. So...... SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!

 

 

 

What type of paint did you use? Any special prep required?

 

it’s just Behr Multi-Purpose spray paint from Home Depot. It’s meant to stick to plastics. The only special prep I did was to thoroughly clean the surfaces with soap and water and then went over them with rubbing alcohol. So far, it’s been about two years and it’s holding up fine. Color is “Blazing Bonfire”, which is not exactly Volcanic Orange (it’s a bit more yellow), but it’s close. I painted the engine cover first and then about six months later, I painted the under bonnet intake scoop to match.
