Carbon VS Plastic (HEAT)

HEY.
I'm thinking of making all the plastics that i have in my engine bay in carbon..for being more specific...

The plastic cover of the engine(Red)..+ the extra plastic that N18 has(Orange)..

The AEM filte scoop tha mounts under the hood.(orange)
The AEM filter cover/box (Red)

Besides the double engine cover+the filter box i have bought reflective gold tape for the AEM scoop in order to reflect the heat and have colder air temp.
SO..What do you think will provide me cooler intake temp......The stock plastic?Carbon? Plastic+Reflective, Carbon+reflective? If its possible mention your thoughts by percentage in order to understand the difference between them

The reason i'm asking is because i want to understand if besides the looks i will gain some lower temps...

I will do the covers just for the looks but scoop(air temp) i want to make it as gold as possible so i dont care for the looks more than the temp.

Thoughts?

The money you would spend on this project for better intake temps would be far better spent on a better intercooler and methanol injection kit.

Plus, trying to manage intake air heat pre-intercooler does basically nothing once you are actually in boost and that air is being heated by compression in the turbo. You're only going to notice any kind of difference when the car is just sitting still at idle not making boost, and there's no movement of cool air through the engine bay.

Ditto. For better intake temps, you NEED a better intercooler.

Will be interesting and unique but costly, any benefits will be over shadowed by cost.

Have you checked the similar intake to AEM but made from carbon, the cost is over 2x as much as the AEM.

Are you thinking of carbon wrap or proper made carbon parts?

I already have Wagner cooler and i also have W/M kit however if i'm able to earn some lower intake temp is welcome and this is why im trying to do that.
Also my downpipe is with ceramic coating and blanker on the turbine...

As i said to the previous guy......Ive done everything that can be made in terms of temp...W/M-Cooler/DP ceramic/Blankets etc etc

No...I havent find this intake..Can you please send me a link??/
No i'm not going to wrap it friend...proper work made only with carbon.

Then you've realistically done everything that's proven to be effective. Changing out everything else you've mentioned for carbon will have diminishing returns, if any. The specific heat/thermal conductivity of your valve cover and intake box are not the only factors at play here. You have to remember there's a giant block of aluminum (your engine) radiating heat into the engine bay at all times.

If you are truly after lower intake temps from here, your next best move might be to add hood vents. Assuming you're brave enough to start cutting holes in the hood.

@knt
Yup i knew the GruppeM but in term of performance doesnt perform that good as the AEM for N18.!

So you suggest me to go "gold"? Some DEI reflective gold? Because this thing do some job in terms of heat..!
I was just thinking of making them and have some minor improves...If not ill might do them for the looks

Have a look at the Zircotec stuff, not cheap but work great when I used a sheet overtop the turbo to stop the heat radiating upwards.

Thank you for your time.
I have put a forge blanket to wrap the turbo and also i have Zircotec my downpipe.
Thats why i'm looking forward on each detail and talking about reflective tape+carbon because ive done every "essential" detail i know. :/
