Cooper Flags Sunroof Cover

All,

I'm interested in purchasing one of the all white perforated sunroof covers for my MINI from www.cooperflags.com, but according to their web site, they are no longer selling their roof applications (change of ownership or something like that)???

I've seen a bunch of posts in this forum (or on the www.mini2.com forum - I can't remember) from "Bad S MINI" stating that they had the white perforated sunroof covers available for $125 (plus $8 shipping) since something like last May I believe. I really wish that they were still selling them.

I've sent an e-mail to cooperflags.com, but I've yet to hear back from them.

Just wondering if anyone knows what's up???

Yes, Matt from cooperflags has sold the company. I believe they are intending to continue to sell everything, but right now they are in development on some things and are trying to revamp the website and such. Don't know how long they'll be out of commission, though.

yep, i can confirm that matt has sold cooperflags. i forget his/their name, but when i e-mailed matt about a problem i had, i received a response from the new owner, who reported about the change in ownership.

don't know anything about not carrying the white sunroof cover though, as matt had sent one to me in early summer, presumably before the sale.

I did sell the company to two of my best employees. Ed and Christian Bowers worked with me for about a year before the sale. Ed has 20+ years of 3M installation experience and his son Christian is a savvy business guy and a die hard MINI enthuisist. Ed and Christian are working to make the product better than it already is by improving the printing and laminating process. Contact Christian at Christian@cooperflags.com and he should be able to give you the latest details.

I moved to Michigan to take a position with the family construction business. I still have my MINI and am enjoying the cooler weather. Maybe I'll see a few of you at the next Dragon. - Matt

Thanks for the info everyone.

That's too bad really as now I have to look elsewhere for the sunroof cover for my MINI. Does anyone know of another place that is selling perforated sunroof covers for the MINI? If not, maybe I'll just have the roof tinted instead.

Good luck with your new job Matt.

I'd email cooperflags or try mightystripes.

TheOfficeMaven, Why not go to a place that makes custom vinyl decals, stripes, and signage and ask them to create a sunroof cover for your MINI? My husband is a production artist and the design studio he works for has all kinds of things made by AAA Banners in West Los Angeles. It seems to me that a simple, white adhesive decal, devoid of design, would be easy for them to make for you.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

And Matt, very best wishes to you in your new career! I hope to see you at the Dragon next May....ahem!

MINIclo,

That's a great idea (and I live in So Cal too!). Thanks! The only thing is that I'm really looking for a perforated sunroof cover where I can still see out of it from the inside of the car and so I'm not sure if they could do that or not. I know that the MINI dealers (according to the www.MINIUSA.com web site anyway) are now selling an all white sunroof graphic for $95, but it's a solid graphic and so you can't see through it.

None of this really matters though as I've now heard from Christian at Cooper Flags and he tells me that they are indeed still selling the covers and that he will get me hooked up right away. Awesome!

Thanks again everyone for all of your help...

Office Maven, I have a perf sunroof cover I've never opened! Bought it in a group buy, $80 plus shipping. Ready to ship (still in the original tube). Let me know if you're interested!

Do you have to contact Christian directly, as I just checked the site, and I could not find any.

thanks

ep's fitz,

Yes, I sent an e-mail message to Cooper Flags and Christian responded back to me stating that he would have a price for me by the end of the day. Unfortunately, that was four days ago and I still haven't heard back from him.

Looks like I'll be tinting my sunroof instead...

Not to "one up" you, but...

My credit card was charged on September 21 and I still have yet to see my Cobra stripes. There has been NO actual contact (I have left several messages, Christian has left one voice message and one e-mail). Today I formally disputed the charge.

I remember my order with them taking longer than expected to arrive. Have some patience. Even longer was responses to my problems, but then again they were in the middle of a changeover of ownership. But it shouldn't take a month...that stinks. I think they need to finish this changeover quickly and then work on restructuring and concentrate on quality and customer service.

What REALLY stinks is that I also want a roof graphic and side stripes (yah I know, the subdued, undestated look), but I am VERY reluctant to order again based on my current kerfuffle.

I'll be happy to help you when your ready for side stripes. My shipping turnaround time is right around 5-7 days until delivery.

Thank mighty, I'll keep you in mind. As I STILL do not have the bonnet/boot stripes maybe there is another sale...

My stripes arrived today, one month and five days after they were ordered. No form of communication whatsoever in the package along with the stripes. Now, I did track them via UPS and for some reason it took nine days to travel from Texas.

I would not have made as much an issue if the new owners of Cooper Flags had made better attempts at any sort of communication. Also, the tactic of charging a credit card before an item ships is just a bad practice.
