H7 bulbs interchangable?

Since low and high beams are both H7 bulbs and 55 watts are they the same? I'm ordering aftermarket bulbs and want to make sure they will fit. Thanks in advance.

Same, only on cars without xenon

Don't succumb to the temptation to increase the wattage of the bulbs. Some have found out the hard way that installing 75 watt or greater bulbs damages the reflectors inside the housing (they melt).

I've got the Hella H7+50% bulbs from RSpeed and they are awesome, IMHO. Major difference in output, and they are still only 55w!

I just wanted to swap out the high beams yellowish light with a whiter light that is also 55W. Since the DRLs are at reduced power, higher heat shouldn't be a factor right (4000K vs. 3200K)? Otherwise, I rarely have the need to use the high beams.

This is what I had in mind. I don't want any blue, just clear.

Are these the ones? If so they're cheap.

I want to change out the bulbs in my MINI.

What have people used?
I read a while back that one guy had his buld connectors dry up and crack
apart because of the extra hear generated. I have held off because of that.

I have Phillips Blue Vision bulbs on my MINI. I know of others that have Sylvania Silverstars on theirs. Much whiter than stock, and they seem to be brighter, too. They put out a 4,000 k colour (The temperature is an indicator of the colour, not the heat produced) Which is close to the colour of daylight (4,200 k)

I was that guy. I have solved my problem, I was able to locate a set(4) of H7 connector blocks, connectors, and heavy duty wire from the local speed shop. My next change/improvement is to locate OEM connector block that is located inside of the headlight housing that connects to the H7 bulb.

I have had the daytime running lights turned on since day one, this I also believe may have contributed to the heat problem.

First of all, I do not think that the OEM H7 bulbs give off enough light, so I changed the to a set that were brighter. It turns out that these also produced a great deal more heat. Thus my problem. Since implementing my solution/fix I have had no problems, and have learned a little more out about my MINI. The new H7 bulbs are PIAA and are very bright and very white, which is what I was after.

I just installed the H-7 Silverstars in my highbeams. (HID lows) Not real crazy about them. Yes, whiter light and looks cool if looking at it on coming but, I don't think they project as far out as the OEM highs. When I flip the Highs on, it is a whiter light and I can see higher and wider but.... just doesn't project much further than the low beams.

The PIAA Extreme White Plus H7's are great. As I stated above, far superior to the OEM, both in distance and width of the Highbeams.
