Yay, looks great! I've contacted the guy at bumper plugs in the past...they do all kinds of things. I'm thinking of having them do some work for me, too.

Why not go for a euro plate in the front fill in the space your MC license plate holder left?

Can't wait to see your MC with the aero grilles!!! Good luck, and be sure to show lots of pics!!!!

The caps came color matched to the car....

I didnt want to go for a euro plate because a lot of euros here run plateless fronts and when they do have a euro plate on the front, cops tend to bust em for that. I dont want to draw any more attention to my car for not having a front plate, let alone a euro plate.

Thankfully, I told my dealer that I would refuse the accept a MINI that had been butchered with their drill!

Those plugs look good though. . . .

I was paging through GoMini the other day and started to notice pics of MCSs where the front tag holder was mounted on the underside of the top edge of the lower grill opening. (...does that make ANY sense??) That way mounting holes were completely out of sight. The bracket positioned the plate a tad bit lower, but it seemed a neater solution than drilling into the front of the bumper. Must have been a bracket design I've not seen....maybe available in the UK???

Sad story...

We bought our MINI S in a state that requires a front plate. Michigan, where we live, doesn't. Well, of course, it came with the dreaded dealers-plate-surround screwed to the front bumper cover. Bummer!

Then last fall one of those lightweight plastic garbage bins ran out in front of the car and necessitated a trip to the body shop. Cool, I'll tell them not to replace the filler screws. Of course the morons forgot!

Okay, try this one on.................

I'm thinking of doing a euro plate (for my Cooper) with my state plate graphics and my actual, correct license plate # on it. I'd keep the standard issue plate on back, but use this modified version in front. The state and the # would be completely, if not more, visable. Only the format would change. I think I can pull this off..........but any clue.........(any)........... how the cops would react?

Someone convince me to stop this madness before I get into trouble!!

I've checked with the TXDOT and they said that the law is the state issued plate with no modifications to the plate itself. Sorry. I wanted to do the same thing. Oh well.

Yup....I kinda figured that'd be the case. Thanks movieman, I was careening over the edge.

I mean, if one person got away with it, then another would try...then another.........then another! The result? Anarchy...mass hysteria!! Can't have that now.

My sense if good citizenship is worn down by: 1) noticing the lack of plates on so many cars out there and (still) the horror of license plate frames that are brazen enough to cover a portion of their Texas plate and; 2) the handsome pics of Coopers in the GoMINI and New MINI with the entire space between those gorgeous front bumper strips used for what God had intended.....a nice wide euro plate and; 3) my MINIs still in the shop AND I'm driving a rental...........you know what effect that has!)

Anyway, I'll just drop the idea.....................again. (....but, oh yes, I'll be back )

Anarchy... ah, I remember when....

We don't have front plates here in Indiana. Are there states that have recently dropped this senseless requirement?

Dogspeed.
