Suggestions on where to mount mini fire extinguisher

I have a small fire extingisher I took off my other car. I noticed that MINI
mounts their fire extinguishers in the boot on the left hand side. Is this
where everyone's mounting theirs?

Any other location inside the cabin that might look 'cool' ? (I do not want
to mount it on the a-pillar).

thanks.

If your driver's seat stays in relatively one position, you can mount it to the floor just in front of the seat. Perp to the door. This will allow a quick grab as you exit the car. I had an 84 GTI with a Jacobs ignition system that caught fire twice. The second time I was prepaired with one mounted right in front of the seat!

That's a good location. Are there any lines (electric) running under there?
Don't want to start drilling without knowing.

dang, I've yet to have a car start on fire on its own...but never know when
I might need it so always carry one in my hobby cars.

There are lines under there, just look underneath and you'll miss them when you drill the holes.

It's a good idea to have the extinguisher in reach of the driver's seat. If the car goes up in flames and you're stuck in the seat it might save your life if you can reach the extinguisher.

Absolutely. But your first priority is to get out of the car if you are still able. If you see that you have a fire, unbuckle yourself first, open the door, and exit...grab the extinguisher on your way. Hopefully we never have to...but it may happen.

Some ideas (you choose)-

Mount upright in easy reach of the driver- in front of the passenger seat strapped to the center console downtube.

Mounted to the door in the oval well near the driver.

Mounted upright between the two front seats rear of the brake handle and over the rear cup holder.

Mounted onto the dash top cover in front of the passenger seat slightly off center toward the driver.

A side impact may not allow access to the extinguisher if it is smushed between the crushed door and your seat.

I have mine tucked in the rear side cubby next to the back seat and speaker. A foam rubber piece keeps it snug yet able to be pulled out when needed.

Brey-Krause makes a mounts that attaches to the seat rail. This way it can slide forward and backward with the seat but stay in easy reach at the front of the seat. From what I understand from others that have done this the seat controls work normally without interference.

There are a couple of different extinguishers on the market that have quick release adapters to work with the mount.

Not the cheapest solution but very functional and trick looking.

Most comments stat that the way passengers sit, and get in and out, do not have any issues and the unit is out of the way.
