Has anyone got these yet? If so, how do they look, are they cheap like people are saying about the chrome side vent?
Also did anyone buy them all? I was wondering if you buy them all if you got a better price, and if it was over kill to have them all?

I got the chrome rings around my two main vents and my shifter. I LOVE them. They are such a little touch but add so much to the car. They use 3m adhesive to stay on and are very secure. They adhere great and will not fall off.

I bought a set of 6 pieces from CarVogue, but I don't see them offered on their site anymore. I got the speedo, tach, 2 main vents, and hazards & dimmer pieces all for only $175 (compared to $275 from most US companies). It's amazing how much they're charging for these inexpensive little things! I love mine and they look great. They wider, thicker ones like the tach and speedo really make a difference. I've received lots of comments on them, including from a BMW tech who did some warranty work on my car- said he'd never seen them before and that they look awesome. Just don't shell out $500+ to do the whole interior. It's not worth that much I think. You won't notice the little pieces like the door lock, side vents, and speaker rings IMO.

The chrome dash pieces are made by Chrom Design in Germany - they do not do the chroming for the side vents that is done by another company out of the country. The Chrom Design items are far superior. We have been working with Chrom Design for over 8 years now and offer the best prices on the net in the USA due to our long relationship with them. Unfortunately, due to the high cost of shipping them in from Germany, we do not offer a package discount. Overkill is not a word I would use when adding chrome to your interior - if you are a true chrome lover

These go on with tape? I would have thought they would clip in? How will the tape hold up in South Florida with the sun always beeting down on it, or with the AC on high everytime I am in it?

Yes - they do go on with 3M tape or approved 3M adhesive gum. We have been providing Miata customers for over 8 years now with Chrom Design products - many in Florida - many in international locations where the temps go over 110 degrees. We have never heard of any tape failures because of heat and I can assure you that this system for mounting is the best.

Why is this so? To begin, a "clamp on method" would be impossible due to the accuracy of each individual part - especially for the parts that fit right down to the 1/1000 degree many Mini parts are cut so fine that they can only be applied with tape.

This method has worked very well - in addition, each piece is component based - meaning that when you stick it on a certain part of your car, it is made that way so that any Mini (or Miata) Tech can access the area without REMOVING the part and separating the tape. This is what makes Chrom Design products so unique and exclusive.

Let me also say that like body work, preparation is so KEY and important for your chrome items to stay secure throughout the years. We have detailed instructions about cleaning the surface with the proper cleaner (we provide) - in order for the tape to perform optimally. Even then, should this not happen, we also provide 3M adhesive gum that can be reused over and over and even shaped into any shape you desire.

I encourage you to log online to http://www.miata.net and look at the many compliments we have received over the years on these chrome products. We take a lot of pride in these products and stand behind them. In fact, I had a lady call me yesterday to tell me that the shift plate she bought for her Miata back in 1997 was marred due to some windex that had dried on the plate - she was sad and I simply sent her a new plate. Why did I do this - because I stand behind these products and we have a very long last relationship with Chrom Design in Germany.

If you have any other concerns or issues, please feel free to post them here or e-mail me at peter@rspeed.net

I love mine. I have the Spedo, tach, shifter ring and the hazzard/dimmer surrounds. I ordered them from Rspeed and was really pleased with the folks there. Peter works with a great crew. The tape holds really well and is completely hidden. I would highly recommend the trims from RSpeed

Peter/Blue Potato -- Do you know if the rings are stamped or if they are spun?

Thanks.

They are spun from aluminum.

They look great, but are pricey. That is how the industry gets you. They lure you with this beautiful car and after you buy it, they start making all these cool extras with high markup. Oh well I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford it

I don't really have a digital camera, but my video camera takes stills. I will be posting pictures soon

Just ordered, thru RSpeed, the tacho, speedo, and shifter rings. I could justify the outlay of $$ to my wife, only because I bet $200 on the Angles to win the series. Get this, I bet when the Angels were 2-3 games down. Whew.

here are some pictures of the chrome dash rings you guys asked for. Believe me they look better than the pictures because my camera sucks and because the weather was wet and overcast.

So shiny and classy

I got mine from MINI Mania but I think at least 3 businesses are selling them so shop around. I'm sure you can find better prices.

Excellent! I love the chrome accents - just enough in the right spots does wonders for that interior. There are more chrome bits on the way - some for you Nav owners out there - but some really well made chrome items are coming - like chrome caps for the end of each stalk (wiper and turn directional stalks), chrome lining for the window exterior, plus several others to be announced soon.

These extra chrome bits do look fantastic and add a great interior feel. I will advise to shop around. I unfortunately overpaid for two items Speedo/Tach from another vendor. Seems that RSpeed is offering the same product at the best price. I will be ordering from them in the future. They also support this website with great feedback !!!

The Chrome Rings are awesome! I got them all. They really accent the inside of the car. I recommend them very strongly. I got mine from R-Speed. They are great to deal with.
