Anyone with Black Pearl Emblem kit from Sewell?

I saw that Sewell had a kit called Black Pearl Emblem and I was interested to see how it looks. Are the wings painted black? Or do they paint over the MINI circle as well? It also states they have the JCW rear emblem painted. Any photos? And for $290+ for the JCW kit, it better last. ;x

I've seen it in person. It is pretty but not so astoundingly so as to warrant the price tag in my opinion, especially if you drive your car daily. The whole emblem is, as best I can describe currently, is entirely pearlescent in a very dark gray. If you have a show car then it is a nice piece. It would require someone be real familiar with what they are looking at to appreciate your investment. And again, that's just my opinion and I like Sewell and their parts department and the staff. They have treated me very well.

I didn't expect it to "stand out" per se but since I have to replace my JCW emblem anyways($90+), thought I might spring for those. However, if they're not truly black, I might just get the local body shop to paint them the glossy black I'm looking for.

I'd give them a call. I bet they'd shoot you a pic. I don't need to go there for a couple weeks, but one never knows. If I do, I'll snap a photo for you. No doubt, nice touch! Ya, I wouldn't call it glossy black. Glossy, yes, not gloss black other than the center. I'm sure you've seen this:

Not shipping until 5/31.

I did call them but they had none in stock so couldn't get a photo. I'll ask for a body shop quote(MINI is in there for other stuff as well). I know that they can be pretty costly to get painted due to the intricate nature of how small they are. I'll update thread with cost from my local guy.

Wow, quite a price. As my 2 yr. old son would say, "Are you kiddn' me!" I have to see one of these emblems in person.

They do have one in the display case. It wouldn't have made for a very good picture without getting them to get it out. They were a little on the busy side when I was there and hated to bother.

I talked with them about these emblems for my Countryman and I decided to buy new emblems and have someone paint them to match my car. In total it only cost me $130 for all of it. IMO if your interested in the emblems, talk to a painter and see what they will charge to paint some for you.

I did end up going that route. I had some other work done on my MINI and they did the emblems for free :p

The Sewell package for JCW includes two wings and 1 JCW emblem. They are $261.00 for the set. It says they are clear coated, so they shouldn't fade.

I was going to get these in the coming weeks but I don't know. I might just try to plasti dip it or go this route still. I'll post pictures if noone else does by that time.

While I'm a huge advocate for Plasti Dip You won't end up with anything that good looking. At least finish-wise. These emblems are gorgeous. I think I'll have to get some as my rear emblem circle portion delaminated. I thought about spraying it over and just ending it there, but now that I see these I know Plasti Dip won't compare. Am I still rambling about how good these look? I like black, I blacked out just about everything on my car. But this has a subtle, almost high class look to them. Where is the drool smiley when you need one? (which I could use on every picture on this forum). When in doubt, plasti dip. Don't like? Then take it off and get the emblems

Also wanted to note, if I haven't already, these emblems are b-e-a-utiful
