I know some of this has been covered before.. but can some one just tell me what brakes would be best to kill the brake dust all over my wheels!!.. I took a wheel off the other night and the insde was a disaster.. i have the white wheels so it shows more.. but even after a few hours of driving I can't keep these things clean to save my life! I've tried waxing and that doesn't last very long, nor does it stop it much. I've never seen brakes so soft. Has anybody tried the green brakes , maybe have some before and after pics of similar driving conditions and the brake dust maybe.. What is the best breke or system of brakes to cut the dust down.. and no I don't want to put brake dust covers on the car. any help would be appreciatedy

People say Green Stuff pads - but for me it did not reduce the dirt on the wheels. Best solution - clean them regularly

Green stuff cut my dust at least in half and the car stops better as well.

Har har...in fact, I'm leaning towards Ferodo 3000 on the next retread

Seriously, Redstuff is just as dustless as greenstuff but will hold up better for hard driving. Ryan's jealous cause my wheels are ALWAYS clean

Chollomo,
Forgive me for adding a corollary question to your thread, but
Do either greenstuffs or reds make a lot of noise? Have people who used them also applied the anti-squeal goop to the back of the pads? Has it helped, and if so, does it last?
I, too, want good grippy street pads that lower dust but do not squeal incessantly like the ones I put on my Alfa.
Thanks all,
John L

I am using Mintex Redbox (redstuff) and am very satisfied. I would estimate brake dust is 1/2 the stock pads and I have absolutely no squeal or noise. I just dropped the pads in on all four corners and never looked back. I run stock white wheels and they definitely stay cleaner. I notice no change in braking action on my MCS Works.

I put greenstuff pads on the fronts last year and didn't use any anti-squeal goop. Much less dust, no squeal.

I thought Chollomo was the one asking the question no anti squeel necessary...though I use cross drilled/slotted rotors...if that makes any difference.

I'm extremely satisfy with the result of the Mintex red box on my MCS. For the purpose of street driving, Mintex dramatically reduced brake dust.

I'd Vote for Axxis Ultimate
they're one of the best performance break and produce less brake dust...

Treated my white S-lites with Rejex and installed EBC Greenies. Dust just wipes off.

I put the Greenstuffs on my front brakes and didn't use the anti-squeal and boy did they squeal. So much and So bad that I had to take them off and apply the anti-squeal (essentially doing a brake job twice). They still squealed a bit. Then some one suggested doing some multiple slow, then multiple quick and hard stops to get the pads to bed. This helped and the squeal mostly went away. Every now and then I still get a little squeek. But they do in fact cut the brake dust in half & with the R90 wheels it's worth the effort. My suggestion is to use the anti-squeal the first time. It won't hurt and could prevent a headache later.

I have had Mintex Redbox pads front and rear for about 8000 miles.
Works great on the street. No noise ever.
Much much less brake dust compared to stock.
Very affordable compared to other options.
Wears very well.
Suitable for autocross use. Not good for heavy track use.
