Hey All,

After approximately 20 months of wanting to change the roof and mirror color on my Mini, I took the plunge! It happended as a result of a parking lot accident, where my boss accidentally scraped my entire passenger side. I was not very upset since it did not involve any injury and I felt confident that she had insurance coverage. She did, state farm to be exact.

Within 24 hours, I was called by a claims representative and allowed to select any body shop. I chose our local ford dealer, primarily for some work I had done on a prior vehicle. On the morning I dropped the car off, I decided to take a pic of an Indi Blue w/ Blk Top to show the body shop guys what I "thought" would be a pretty simple "fix". It was no simple job. The result was an expensive conversion for which I am very pleased. The damage was undone, and the conversion from white to black has made a world of difference to my Mini.

I ususlly get the fever to trade cars about once every two years, but this is like having a new car. I know some are wondering why I just did not buy the Indi/Blk combination to start with, and that's a great question. The answer is impulse, pure and simple. I fell in love with the car (mini) from the first glimpse I had in a magazine, well before the first car was delivered to the states. I think the article title was "Baby Beamer". Three months later the cars were in the states, and BMW of Nashville.

Eight hours of negotiations finally landed me in my mini (there were only 2 available to be sold on the lot, everything else was pre-sold). My absolute favorite Mini is a Pepper/Blk, but that was not an option for me two years ago, nor an option that I wanted to excercise a week ago.

So, for anyone thinking about trading, think about a makeover instead, it's a whole lot cheaper!

Jim
