Hi everybody. just signed up because i'm in the market for a used 2009-2013 r56 cooper JCW. I've been searching for a couple months now and within the next month or so ill be ready to buy. I have a couple of questions. 1) how does this car compare to a BMW e46 model in terms of driving, reason I ask I've owned on BMW's and have become extremely picky about how cars drive and handle, I realize BMW owns MINI but I am just wondering how they compare in terms of driving. 2) Did mini make a supercharged r56? I was looking at a local one for sale, haven't yet seen it in person, but it says its supercharged and its got me confused since i thought the r56 was only turbocharged? I will try to provide a link. I can't comment on the BMW comparison, but avoid the JCW with the n14 engine. I think they used it up to 2012..

I might go and look at it soon, drive it see if i like it, Then go from there by getting a PPI and so on. In the description it say supercharged which i'm still confused by, they didn't post a picture of the engine so I cant tell until I see in person

Also the price seems a bit high considering 63k on the odometer.

 

Avoid JCW from 2009 - 2012 ...N14 engine. The 2013 has the N18 engine, much improved.

 

The supercharged MINI ended in 2006.

 

You can obtain the build options here using the last 7 of VIN, and then price the car at KBB.

Top of Ad correctly identifies the engine as a "TURBO".

Only the 2013 JCW has the N18 engine.

 

If you look under seller notes right under the picture it says "one of a kind Supercharged model" I don't know if it was a typo because I knew r56 of only being turbo charged.

All of us have to admit that it is a nice looking car. I did not check, but the listed price is probably close to the KBB price...perhaps it is a little high.

And the address of the dealer is 7777...

 

It is a awesome looking car! I've driven past the dealership a couple times and it looks very clean, I think I might stop by to take a closer look sometime this week, I'd really like to drive one to get an idea on how they drive, I'm sure ill love it since I've heard nothing but good things about the handling

Looks decently optioned. Blacked out Xenons,nav,parking sensors, h&k sound. If N18 engine. I'd try to talk them down maybe 2k. If n14.... Run!

Please get a ppi first of you do decide you can't live without it.. It will save you thousands in the long run.

+1 its looks pretty nice, funny they say supercharged in the ad, they don't really know what they have.

The inspection will help and go run the MINI service records at your local MINI dealership and see what was done or it there is any outstanding TSB' s

Welcome, yea its not that far away. I would go check it out.

 

I stopped by to check out the car and it wasn't there I talked to the guy who owned the place and he said the car is still for sale but it was on consignment and the guy who owned the car had to pick it up Monday morning since it sat on the lot for over 30 days I guess. I asked when he could bring the car back and I think he said Thursday if i'm not mistaken, so hopefully ill get to check it out then
