They were just the standard leatherette sport seats. Night and day difference in comfort with the Wet Okoles.

So basically my whole car is blacked out but door handles and gas cap. I do plan to wrap my gas cap, is it easy Nate? And do I need the weather to be warmer than 70 degrees?

I don't think temp will play much of factor since you'll be using a hair dryer/heatgun. As for the gas cap, it was one of the more difficult items to get perfect, but then again it was one of the first things I tried to vinyl wrap. I'm much more skilled now than I was back then. From the exterior, it looks perfect, but if you open the cap, you'll see where I hid a few folds right where the lift tab is. This is where all the excess comes together. All I had to do was cut as much excess as possible and leave a few triangular pieces to overlap. Same thing happened with the door handles on the underside, although I think I can get these closer to perfect on another go around.

Good luck Rob, and let me know if you have any other questions.

Well, today i figured out im better at making bread than wrapping parts... i effed up twice on mirror caps as i got it 90% done then it bunches up at the end... i got frustrated... heated too much and it tore. I cant for the life of me get the mirrors right. I even tried the back straps on my clubman at the back doors. Basically one curve. I screwed that up too. Got most of the way there and tried to fix bubbles. Ugh.

MY bread is good though.

I do love fresh baked bread!

I tried my mirror caps to and ended up with a "bunch" of crap. I once saw a video of it being done. Involved 4 people - 1 to hold the mirror cap (fist inside the cap facing up), 2 others holding the sheet of vinyl above it, and a 3rd applying light heat. On the count of 3 the two with the vinyl pulled the sheet hard and fast over the cap. They had to do a lot of stretching to avoid the bunch up.

Love 'em! I had them on my Tacoma for 4+ years and had to have them on my MINI. I wasn't a big fan of the leather/leatherette in the MINIs, and besides that I like the waterproof quality since I can jump in after the beach and mountain biking. Easy to clean and super comfortable. Mine also have heat and lumbar support.

Sorry if you have already answered this, I searched the post first. Did you remove the door handles or did you wrap them on the door?

Wrapped them on the car. It was a challenge and would've been easier if I had removed them, but I wasn't willing to go through that hassle at the time.

Thanks for the details of removing the headlight washer pieces. How do you remove the scuttles. I have looked them over and can't figure it out.

On my 2013, pop the hood so it's open all the way then push the scuttle forward toward the front of the car.

any info on how to get those paddles off? id love to wrap mine

speaking of late to the party, sorry to bring up an old reply, but how did you guys take off the plastic mounting gear off the crossbars? I'm trying to vinyl my crossbars but don't know how to take off the plastics and hardware....

MrT offered some good suggestions. In the picture you can see that I removed the cross bars and wrapped them each in a single piece. Before I peeled the backing I folded the vinyl in half to create a center line. I also drew a pencil line down the center of the bottom of the cross bars. When I peeled the backing off I was still able to see the crease, then I carefully laid the cross bars on the vinyl, making sure that both pencil lines were lined up with the crease. From there I flipped the cross bar over and began smoothing everything toward the top channel. I had excess on the sides and in the channel that I trimmed at the end. To wrap the vinyl into the channel I used a "L" shaped feeler guage to get a tight fit.

Good luck. Vinyl is all about practice and patience.
