What looks better on my Electric Blue MCS....black or sliver wheels?

With the help of a NAM member, I finally have a really good idea of what my car would look like if I painted the wheels black. Thanks!

I know it's all personal preference.....but I was wondering what some other people though. I think it looks "different" with the wheels black....but not really sure if it looks "better". Just kind of a different overall look.....

Does it look better with the black wheels, or silver? If black...would flat or gloss look better?

Just wondering....

I'd say it looks a little more "serious" or aggressive with the black wheels, more fun-loving or whimsical with the silver. The black unifies the look that you get with the black stripes. If you go with the black, you might consider blacking the headlight trim rings and grill surround, as well.

Thanks, I'll check into doing the headlight trim also. I was thinking about wrapping them in the 3M di-noc like I did the stripes.

As far as the wheels go, I may just spray some plastidip on them. From what I have seen, it has a really nice satin black color, and seems to hold up over time. And the best part is that I can always peel it off if I don't like it after a while.

Silver for sure.

There's enough heaviness in the world without us going all Darth Vadar with our cars.

Just did the stripes myself. I bought some of the 3M carbon fiber Di-Noc vinyl of of ebay...a 24"x72" sheet if I rememeber right. Cost me around $60. The cener stripe is around 13" I think, and the side stripes are 1" wide with a 1" gap between the center stripe. Just used a razor and a straight edge to cut them. It took about 2hrs to lay them on. Took a little time, but it turned out nice

Couldn't say it better myself! Personally I like a "meaner" look and therefore vote black.

I vote for black. It will tie in with your stripes and mirror caps very nicely.

That's why I wish MINI offered a brilliant, non-metallic pink, or a bright, non-metallic orange.

We have a Mellow Yellow/Black Clubman and the Chili Red/Black Cooper S, but I think an all-orange with silver wheels would be more to my liking. I don't understand all the bland-painted cars out there

I'd say find another color idea. I see the EBs with black wheels a lot. I personally want my mini to have its own flair. But its your preference. Good luck deciding! :D

Go with white, white mirror caps and pinstripe the edges of the black stripes with thin white pinstripes. Are you good at photoshop?

Well, I decided to give the Plasti-Dip method a try. I figured what the heck, it's only $24 for 4 cans of the stuff, and if I don't like it....I'll just peel it off. Kind of a win-win I guess

Well..what do you think? I think it turned out pretty good. Looks "meaner" than before. Something different I guess....we'll see how long it lasts.

The black is hot, haven't seen many in your color with black wheels.

I will start by saying I really like your stripes, and I think you did a great job with them.

I will end by saying that I no longer like black wheels. The wheel itself looks good, especially when clean. However, on the car, it seems like black causes the wheel to disappear instead of POP. I have started hating the "dark side" of my car.

Hopefully, you will not start feeling the same way.

You're right. Black wheels will tend to blend in with the black plastic trim that surrounds the wheel wells. If you want your black wheels to pop out again, go for the aero kit.

+1 I agree with your assessment. Sometimes I like black wheels, but usually only if they are breaking up an overpowering single color. If the entire car is a light color including the wheels then a dark wheel can add some contrast and interest, IMHO.
