R56 Emblem

I have seen several Mini's on this site that Have these really cool R56 emblems. It mounts on the rear lid. They usually have a red "R" and chrome or black "56".

My question is were can one purchase one of thesee. I would love to have one for my Mini.

Thanks AXO

I plan on keeping my Cooper S emblem. I plan on installing it on the opposite side. Thanks for the replies. I will try eBay to piece it together.

This is just my opinion, but putting non-standard badges on the back of a car is kind of borderline ricey. In this case, it sort of seems like what teens do to their civics, especially since this "R" badge IS FROM a civic! Anyone not familiar with MINIs won't have any idea what it even means, and anyone in the know is already aware of what model/year car you drive, which is clearly labeled "Cooper S". I'm all for customizing your MINI, but this comes off as sort of low rent...might as well put a badge with your production number or one that says "CR/W MCSa".

Took my off the John Cooper Works badges the day after I got the car. I know what it is without having to have a label on it, so the badge just informs the thieves and police what it is and creates a place for dirt and grime to accumulate around and under. Stealth. Not to mention, the weight savings and improved aerodynamics you get from debadging, oops I mentioned it.

Actually, IMO, that one even looks worse. Not only is it adding non-standard badging, but doing it in place of the stock Cooper S badge?!? What's next, a "Turbo" badge from a Porsche?? It's your car, so by all means feel free to do what you want. If there was a 10 commandments of "how to rice out a vehicle", I'm pretty sure that putting Honda Type-R badging on a MINI Cooper would be the first commandment. I would laugh if I saw that on the street, but whatever, it's yours...motor on, brother!!

I altered my Cooper S badge, but it is still all stock parts.

It's just that I found that I was always referring to it as a "MINI Pooper"

It's your car, put what you want on it, I think R 56 is pretty cool too!

Haters gonna hate... even within the MINI community.

I think it looks bad ***.

AXO, just google chrome auto lettering/emblems and you will find plenty of sites with various fonts available. I chose ones that matched the style of the "Cooper S" lettering. Everyone loves it, first time I heard anyone hate on it is Subzero and that's just his "non-standard" prerogative.

Bought the R56 emblems, fit finish and font looks awesome. Will install next week I'm just trying to decide if I want to paint them car is all blacked out and not sure to leave them chrome to bring in the chrome on tips or paint it black and red "R".

You and I are on the same wavelength, my friend! I always call it a pooper! How much/where did you get your extra P and how easy was this to do??

I got another Cooper S emblem from the dealer, It cost around forty dollars but I had a gift coupon that I'd won at the dealership, that covered most of the cost.

Each letter is separate and has a peel and stick surface on the back. I put masking tape across the top and bottom of the existing letters, to make sure the letters would be in line and peeled the "C" off with my fingernail, cleaned the paint surface and stuck the "P" in its place, lining it up with the edges of the masking tape, then I pulled off the masking tape. I have the extra letters in the glove box in case I ever need them.
