Anyone done stripes on their mini with the 3M Carbon Fiber Vinyl?

I have an Electric Blue R53 mini...and I'm thinking about doing some of the hood and maybe even side strips in the 3M Carbon Fiber (Di-Noc) Vinyl. Has anyone ever done this? If so..can you post some pics?

Thanks!

I have seen a couple of cars with it but will say most people using the Di-Noc are wrapping stuff.. All edges being hidden.. I too would like to see/hear how the edges of the Di-Noc holds up after being on the car for awhile. Mainly from washing and drying it..

Carbon Vinyl Stripes

After wrapping my interior I decided to re-do my bonnet & boot stripes in carbon fiber vinyl also. Came out great. This vinyl is suppose to last 5 years outside, only been 1.5 months, but no issues to date. I had similar stripes in plain black that I bought as a kit on the car, when I did the CF I cut my own and went a little wider so my stripes were the width of the inside of the hood scoop. Here some pics:

By the way, my car is a daily driver so it's out in the elements.

I have the white 3M carbon fiber vinyl on the back of my iPhone, i don't see any reasons why the edges wouldn't hold up fine on a car. Go for it!

Yeah...that black carbon fiber looks great! How did you get the rear MINI emblem off?? Or did you just cut around it?

I'm going to go with two fat stripes right down the center. Hopefully I can get a chance to do it this weekend! I'm assuming that I should use some wax and grease remover on the panels before I apply the vinyl down? I'm also going to use some of the 3M adhesion promoter on the front and rear edges...just to give it a little extra help sticking and resisting the wind while going down the road

I did use wax & grease remover before applying the vinyl. I haven't had any issues with lifting anywhere except in the back in reverse light area due to the deep draw. I originally didn't use any promoter but it started to lift in that area so I re-applied new vinyl (just around the reverse light) using the promoter and it's not lifting. As for the emblem, I removed it, then reapplied it with adhesive silicone after applying the stripes. The emblem is originally stuck on with adhesive tape so it pretty easy to remove. I also removed the hatch lift bar so the boot vinyl goes under it and the handle vinyl is wrapped around so there are no exposed edges. Also tucked the top edge of the boot stripes under the window rear window rubber seal.

Man, that looks awesome! Like the exhaust tip also. I'm doing a custom exhaust this week and will install a similar one... I was wondering how it would look.

More CF Wrap

I've never liked the body color grill on my MCS and had looked at some of the aftermarket black grills but hadn't pull the trigger on buying one yet. I had previously put CF vinyl stripes on my car and had a bunch of vinyl left so I thought I'd wrap my grill and see if I liked it. Here's how it turned out.

Don't think I'm going to be buying that aftermarket grill!

Well I finally had the time to cut and apply the 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fiber vinyl stripes on my mini. All I have is this crummy cell phone picture, I will have to get some better ones tomorrow. They run down the back of the car also.

It turned out 10 times better than I expected!!! Looks great!!
