Add on alarm

I see the light for the alarm by the middle of the dash.
Where can i get the add on alarm besides the dealer?
Is it pricey? Dealer said $900 and i said take a hike lol

The light for the alarm is the end of the wiper stalk, or turn signal stalk on an R53 just depends on the year of your car.
The thing in the middle of the dash that looks like a light is actually the solar sensor for the Automatic A/C.
I have a good used alarm kit for an Early R53 I could get you a deal on, but if you need the newer one we also sell them but they are a little more expensive but not $900.

alarm has nothing to do with the mirror

To quote you for an alarm I would have to know the production date of your car, which is located on the vin tag just inside the drivers door jam.

I am going to purchase an alarm in the near future (need to save up a few bucks for it) so I am curious as to the price of the alarm.

I have a 07/2004 production R53

I wonder if it would be possible to just buy the turn stalk with the red light on the red & have it blink when you lock the car? Or would one need to install the whole thing for it to work? People ignore alarms, but a flashing red light may put off a would be thief.

It did for me. I got the whole alarm, but the red light flashed after I installed the new stalk, even before the car was coded to initialize the alarm.
