I just bought and installed the MINI accessory leather handbrake handle and boot. My MCS has leatherette interior and shift boot. I'd like to buy an OE leather shift boot, but I've been told that MINI does not offer one.

Does anyone know if one exists?

Does a leather shift boot come with cars that have leather interiors?

The boot in leather cars is not leather. We put a Lapis leather shifter boot (along with a matching hand brake boot) in our Lapis blue interior MCS. Includes a matching shift-****. It is available through MINI and is on the same catalog page as the e-brake kit, if I'm not mistaken. I bought it through Classic MINI. I don't remember what colors are available, off hand.

 

Does anyone make a black leather brake boot WITHOUT the contrasting stitching? Moss and Rspeed are the only two I've seen and they both have white stitching that goes with nothing else in the interior

 

I made custom red leather boots for my shifter and handbrake, and can have black made up with black stitching if you'd like - cost $45 including shipping, or $65 for both shifter and handbrake covers. This is commercial grade furniture leather used for high end furniture, not some cheap thin stuff. Send me a PM if you're interested.

 

I think if you look a little more closley at Moss or Rspeed shift boots there is already an option to select a leather boot with or without the mini logo(they are listed seperatley)...I know I've seen them and I believe they are the same price.

But even without the logos, it still has white stitching.

You've probably come up with a solution to the white stitching on the leather hand brake and shift boots by now, but if not...

I ordered the two leather boots (without logo), not realizing they would have the white stitching. I was ready to pack them up and ship them back, when I decided to experiment. First, I tried using a fine point permanent marker. It colored the stitching well, but had a slightly shiny appearance. Then I tried using black cream show polish, and it worked like a charm. I don't think anyone would ever know the stitching wasn't originally black.

 

I "think" NOSUV4ME is sending me a black one. Have to check with him and find out where he's at
