Aftermarket Seats

Hay I'm just looking for information on aftermarket seats. Im looking to get some racing seats for the car. I'm OCD so i have to buy 2 so the front matches. The EURO Spec JCW are Sweet but im not paying that much for seats. The M7 seats are pretty nice as well. I'm wondering if any one has changed the seats. What ones they have, and if there are annoying light on the dash because of the airbags and seat pressure sensor. Pics would be great, but any info will be awesome. Thanks

Matt

I'd also like to know. I know for my friend's E90 that he gets an airbag message that stays on while you drive. But that can be eliminated with some kind of expensive scanner tool that isn't really worth the cost. Anyone know where to get the brackets/sliders etc for aftermarket racing seats specifically for the R56?

Dwight Walhood did it... only for his driver side. I don't think he posted the ordeal he went through on this site, but I did read it somewhere. I'd love the JCW Recaros too. There is also the PITA of the airbag sensor too that is on the original seat.

My main complaint with the stock seats is the headrest is positioned so forward.

If we get a group buy, I might reconsider.

I installed a set of Sparco Milano's.
I used all the correct Sparco mounts.
The seats were 1" to low.
Had to install a spacer.
When removing seats, disconnect battery 1st.
You will have to install your seat belt latch assy. onto a seat you are installing.
After installing seats, hook up seat belt latch assy.
Hook up battery.

There's a great tutorial on motoring alliance on how to do it (I can't paste the link here). I think he got it so that no lights come on, either airbag or seat pressure sensor.

I'm planning to install some Sparcos in mine one of these days. I'd join a group buy as well.

Yep, that's the one I'm referring to. So far it looks like the beat tutorial I've found for swapping out the seats.

I would recommend against replacing your seats with aftermarket steering wheels.

Really small car with little mass, and you want to remove the only safety system between you and an Escalade or F150?

I'd love to see your face after the accident, you're injured, and your insurance company denies medical payments because you modified your car with fast and furious seats...

racing buckets are even better than the stock seats. they hold your body more and dont let it slide from one side to another. if anything, this is increasing your security and if you later get a rollcage or what not you can set up a harness system and go racing. if i had the money, id have one right now.
