MINIMANIA.com has many

http://www.minimania.com/pdfile/R56_Rally_Lights.pdf

or

go back to the dealer and ask for them

MINI doesn't put 'em in the box. I guess they figure the dealer won't need 'em

did the same thing on GEN1 accessories. But when asked the dealer printed out everything.

Does your set have a separate light switch or does it run off of the high beams?

There should be a seperate switch

The Driving lights switch is installed on the left side of my steering wheel on the dash. It lights up when the headlights are on. If you want the driving lights to come on you turn on the switch and a bright blue led lights up on the switch so when you turn on the high beams the driving lights come on. They then will go on or off with the Hi_Beams.

They are super bright and really light up a long way down the highway.

I paid my dealer $719.60 installed. They look great on my car and work perfect as well as they look like they were put on at the Mini Factory.

Can you take a picture of the switch on the dash. Also, our dealer is quoting $849 installed. How did you get them so cheap?

I called my dealer and they said they'll have to install a new grill for my 2011 MCS to be able to install the driving lights so they quoted me at least $1,000.

AZMerF here is a photo of my switch

It is a very clean install.

The picture of the light lights up when you turn the switch on.

The small led on the switch turns on when you turn on the hi beams.

The driving lights only come on when the hi-beams & the switch is turned on.

NCIS.SD $1,000.00 Really???????

What the heck, $1,000 is way out of line because the grill comes with the installation kit.

$320.10 for the two lights

Bracket & Grill kit $107.50

Installation plus tax $292.00 (Includes adding the lights to the computer)

Total was $719.60 installed

My dealer wanted $1100 for the installation. After I showed him prices on this site that quoted prices of only 7-800 dollars he lowered his price to $850.00.

Don't be afraid to haggle for the installation price.

Very cool. Thanks for the pictures. I still don't know if it's worth the $850 they want for the installation.

Of course it's not worth it.

It seems everything I want is not worth the Money I have to pay.

*********************BUT************************** ****

If I like what I'm buying I just get myself nice & "STUPID" and buy it anyway.

You have to figure:

Spend the $850.00 and be happy and have your lights.

You won't have $850.00 but you will have the lights.

***************or**********************

Don't buy them and wish you did.

And you still won't have the $850.00 and no lights either.

The Genuine Mini Driving lights still look the best

Now I want to be clear. ""THIS IS MY OPINION"" & other people may not agree.

I think the genuine mini lights look like they belong on a Mini. I have seen other lights installed and they never ever really looked right. Some to big, some to small and some are just plain UGLY.

Of course the genuine mini driving lights cost to much but at least they function and look perfect. To me they are worth buying.

I agree with you on the "look like they belong" but after experiencing the light output of a hella 500 in comparison i love my hellas, they are about one inch bigger i believe(never measured) but not too big to throw off my personal taste

As far as the light output goes.

The Hellas are really good as is other brands. They put out a tremendous amount of light.
*****************BUT****************************** *****

So do the Mini lights.

On occasions when I have to go to Gainesville Fl. from Daytona I take route 40. It is a very dark very animal friendly road at 4:30 in the AM. I never knew how many animals including bears were along side of the road until I had my Mini Driving lights installed. They light up the roadway more then enough to see farther ahead then needed.

There are much less expensive driving lights that are just as good or may be even better then the Mini lights but in my personal opinion "They just do not look as nice" I still like the Genuine Mini lights on a Mini.

I know what your saying, i have had both and the only reason i got rid of the mini genuines is that i had a side by side comparisson with a buddy of mine that had the hellas and he could see a good amount more than i could(laterally) the beam is wider, the bulbs are the same so the light output is he same relatively but the beam pattern on the hella is a good amount brighter.

I like the look of the Hellas in front of the lower grill.

I tried the Hella 500s for awhile but decided they were just too big for my tastes so I switched to Wipacs. They're 100% polished stainless steel and about 5" in diameter (very similar to the oem lights).

Thanks for the invoice and details...I am going to put some heat on my dealer to be more aggressive than his offer for $1,100 for the driving lights. This info really helps!

So, if you had the OEM lights and decide later you want the brighter Hellas in their place, can you just switch out the actual lights and keep the switch and brackets.
Just wondering.
