Won't fit without modification... The lower corners of the grille are shaped differently. If you search around I think there was a thread where someone was modifying the grille to fit, but don't recall ever seeing the results or how it worked out.

very do-able.

here's my post that explains a little of it:

If you need any more info, I'm planning on detailing my car this week and I can take it off and snap a few photos of it.

That's exactly what I'm looking to do! If you could snap some pics that would be great. I'm sure I could work it out, but you would save me alot of time. Cheers

Also, can you use the original MCS surround with the slat insert?

Nope, I tried. You need a justa bottom grille trim piece. You can find a JCW justa grille trim set on any MINI accessory site. The slatted grille wont even come close to fitting on a normal bottom r56S grille trim. The upper grille is the same for s and non s.

From iPhone.

This is different then the regular JCW trim for the JCW grille? Have a part number? Cause getting the MC lower trim piece to fit is the thing holding me back right now.

The JCW Grille Trim for a Mini Cooper(non s) is what you're looking for. It will fit the slated grille.

https://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coo...rill_trim.html

Select: Mini Cooper + Clubman
SKU: 51130417134/137

That's the exact one I bought. And I'm using the slated grille from an R56(non s). On the slated grille, the bottom is twice the width of the regular grill made for the S. This is why you need the bottom grille trim from a justa. If you can find just the bottom piece on eBay or something, that will work too. Since my car is blacked out and I had the JCW trim on the original grille, I decided to get the JCW for the slated as well.

Looks good on the black, but I'd actually like to do the reverse on my 2011 clubman -- so do I need an s-style grille made for a non-s?

there are sites that sell the JCW grille and trim for non-s coopers/clubmans. Trim is black/glossy and the grille has bigger holes than the s grille.

If you would rather go through MINI, I think the parts dept may sell it too.

EDIT:

Actually you may want to contact the parts dept, as the few sites I checked don't have the grilles for 2011 models.

I would check with Aaron at outmotoring to see if he's figured out what to do with the '11 Cooper.

All the MCS grills are interchangeable, and the pre-11 Coopers can use the Cooper-specific JCW grill, but last I talked to him, he hasn't confirmed any other setup that fit the '11 Coopers with the new bumper/hood.

Yeah Aaron @ Outmotoring would a good idea. I usually go to him for parts. Though I just read the jcw grille product description on his site for the clubman, and doesn't support the 2011's yet.
