Very easy mod, and highly recommended. Got rid of some buzzing and probably some buzzy noises i didn't even think were coming from the doors. The door panel pops right off after removing 4 screws. Then i applied the stuff to the big flat portion of the back of the door panel and a little bit around the speaker grille. Then added some around the speaker itself on the actual door, and then put a bunch inside door on the exterior panel. Just be careful where you put it cause it's a BIATCH! to remove! But some googone works wonders.

I think i used Brown Bread from bquiet.com. I had it laying around my garage from my brother's stereo install 2 years ago that i helped him with. I will do the rear doors this weekend. But right now the interior is so darn quiet!

I've been meaning to look into this. Thanks for the product lead. I'll check it out.

Okay d2mini, you've got me interested. So how many square feet do you reckon we need to do our car. I'm thinking the two doors need it, the rear panels (if I can work out how to get them off), and the boot. That's for starters anyway. Anybody used this product or something similar and can give a square footage estimate? I know I can go out and measure but...

Thanks,

Ken

Here's a thread about inexpensive material that can be used as a sound deadener.

When I added deadening material it was just to the two front doors (where you get most of the gain) and it was applied to three different surfaces (inside of metal exterior door, inside of interior metal door, inside of door panel) and it came to a total of 29 sq. feet. That would be on the heavy side- be sure not to overdo it. Some additional benefit can be had by doing the rear hatch, the floor of the boot, the floor of the passenger cabin, the rear seats and the rear quarter/boot panels and rear passenger panels but that all would be quite a bit of material. I'd say it would be pretty easy to use up about 50 sq feet of material. And there is weight for all that material.

50 Sq ft of material would be approx. 25 Lbs, that's not so much
that you would notice any difference in performance.

The weight of the material will vary with which product you select to apply.
I have Cascade Audio's VB-max and with 29 sq ft it was less than 10 pounds. It had self adhesive backing and can be applied and removed and reapplied easily. It came in sheets and was cut to size as needed. It was very pliable.
Each material will have a dense layer which can vary alot.

Could you elaborate on this? After you remove the 4 screws are thier any clips or snaps around the edge? Does the panel lift straight up?

Thanks

Brad

Aside from reducing the bluzzing noise, it helps in reducing road noise.
