Rail Accessories?

Has anyone found any rail accessories available yet? The first thing I'm looking for is a way to hold an iPad. I'm hoping that MINI connected will work just as well with a 3G iPad.

You are posting in the wrong forum. This is for Countryman owners.

arm rests are an option to order. There are now two available, one for the front and one for the back.

Do you have part numbers for this rail accessory ?

I was under the impression the arm rest was only available via when ordering car as it bolts to floor - not part of the rail system ????

stumbled across this...

http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...n_armrest.html

Looks like just the front armrest though? It's hard to tell. Perhaps outmotoring can help.

I just purchased one. It does come with 2 cup holders and one cheezy sunglass holder. Plastic rail hooks for bags/garbage did not come with mine. Maybe I should talk to the dealer about it.

Rear Center Armrest

I plan to order a Cooper S Countryman and wanted to include the Rear center armrest (497). My MA just advised that the Rear center armrest (scheduled for March) has been delayed. Can this armrest be installed after delivery of the vehicle? I plan to specify the standard one piece rail and Front Center Armrest (473), which is a prerequisite anyway. Does anyone know the current release date for the armrest?

Yes, it will be able to be installed after delivery. No word on release date as of this time. Just like the flat load floor....all we know is it will be available sometime in the next few months.

Thanks for your reply/information! I would appreciate if you could post to this thread if/when you get additional information or photographs regarding the Rear armrest. It is a small item, but the rail and armrest are useful to give our two children their own space on long trips.

TunaBall - The MINI Connected system at this time ONLY works with iPhone 3GS and 4 running iOS 4.2.

iPads are not currently supported.

Not supported perhaps, but iPad seems to work fine though the app runs as an iPhone app and doesn't take advantage of the larger screen. I've tested Connected with my iPad and found no issues though admittedly I did not test every feature extensively.

I work for Autodesk, and know some of our Manufacturing guys pretty well. Is anyone else interested in an iPad mount that would attach to a rail puck? I've got them working to model the connection point in our software currently, but I'm curious if there's enough of a market to make the casting a worthwhile process.

BTW, whoever wants to know the rest of the accessories for the rail, the dealerships now have a book with all the ones you can get for the Countryman. Some interesting things.

I'm not sure how fast or at what price, but I'll be sure to post back once we have it modeled. Probably something that would accept a pad in a case (elastic/hard clips) that would let you rotate the display.
