Interior/Exterior Installed FES InvisiLens kit
Installed FES InvisiLens kit
I have had my Mini for about a month now. The one thing that consistently bugged me was the glare off the 2 gauge displays. I found the FES Auto kit and ordered it immediately. The kit had clear concise online instructions and I had it installed relatively quickly. I REALLY like the results... the kit is made from very clear high grade glass that is anti-glare coated. As a side benefit the gauges are much clearer now that they are covered in glass and not plastic. I give it a 10 thumbs up...
Cool... I think it is a MUST do... you'll not know how you lived w/o it... so what do you ride? Sux there's no more SF Grand Prix, at least we have the Amgen tour..
I guess another good thing is that the glass is easier to clean w/o scratching too.
I ride a Look KG381 Team from the 2003 tour spares, but I also build bike conversions and other project bikes. My primary fixed-gear is a green Cinelli Mash (we rode fixed in this year's Aids Lifecycle to LA so I'm a huge fan of this frame for getting me there) but I have a few old 60s and 70s frames converted to new uses. The latest was a Mixte frame done up as a cargo bike with a baby seat in the front on a ginormous Nitto stem, for giving my 16 month old daughter a tour...

Ya I have no idea what it is but its something and I didn't do it.
Glad you all are happy!
Thank Richard Woo (rkw here) for doing the parts. Because he only has one product, it goes under the FES umbrella.
For what it's worth, it's still a plastic lens, but the coating (that is on both sides) is much, much, much harder than the plastic used on the stock lenses so they don't scratch.
What's funny is I didn't think that they'd make that much of a difference, but I just LOVE the things! At night, it looks like the dials have no lens at all! And during the day the glare is much reduced.
Spread the word!

Ah, the SFGP... remember when the posties would be hanging out in north beach, you could sit at the top of the steep section and marvel as they accelerated out of the crest, you could touch (if you wanted to) Georgie from the barricades as he came around the corner on Bay, and life was good for a local cycling fan?

Uh yeah.. so you say :P
Well, I still have a spare frame. I have the Jalabert Edition from the same model year (2003) in red/white/black/crabon. I need to sell that thing!
Oh the horror of the roof ream. That's why I use a rear hitch these days!
I feel your pain.

I was just going to post up a thread about the Fes-auto Invisi-lens asking if it's worth it or not. I'm planning on swapping out both the tech and speedo factory lens with these.

I'm trying to time all my little projects that involve the dash being disassembled to do them all at once. Rear fog light switch and panel and front driving light panel with switch install.
I feel the Invisilens will be well worth it.
