Hello All
We are looking at 2 used Mini's both are 2006. 1 has these little round colored lights over the glove box. I have no idea what they are please help.
Cant wait to do some autocross!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will own a Mini by Sat.
if you are going to autocross might want to look for a car with the Chrono pack.
Puts the speedo next to the tac and has oil pressure and temp gauges already in

That was an interior trim option called "Piano Black." Notice the door ovals are also gloss black, and the seats have piping and stitched slats.
By default, I am reasonably certain, there are no lights behind the painted circles. Someone may have modified it though.

No reason for this as your average time for a run is about 60 sec. No real reason to be concerned with gauges for such a short run.
For the late 1st gen cars they offered up better leather with piping and new stitching. When they introduced the 2nd gen, they took that styling and made seats into a new shape.

why? you should NEVER look at your dash while racing, you should know the speed by gear and engine pitch. your brain should be more focused on things such as corner entry, exit, when to apply power, racing line, and obstacles.
its not safe to take your eyes off the road, and can cost you several seconds if you do.
if anything the only thing you should ever look at is the tach, which having it in the center of the steering wheel makes convenient, thats why the normal mini comes that way :P
also, if you dont mind traveling, check out the marketplace for some pre-loved mini's that already have some upgrades. personally saving and installing the upgrades makes me more attached to my car, but it is the definitive more expensive way to do it. if you can find a modded car that has life left in it, its MUCH cheaper.
if you can, get one that has a diff (differential, not sure how old you are/ how much you know about cars) i didnt and really wish i did, and if you go aftermarket its $1440 parts and minimum 500 labor...
