Start jogging

Take the rear carpet out too. But what are you doing, drag racing?

If you have an MCS, don't bother removing the spare tire...

You could replace your Lead-acid battery with a Lithium-Ion battery from a Porsche. The only thing they say they have a problem with is cold, but a MCS battery is in the cabin.

Stock wheels are the easiest and most dramatic way to lose weight. If you have something like R90s, you will lose about 10lbs per wheel if you pick up some of these http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand

That's 40 unsprung pounds lost from barely any work.

Check out this old thread from 2005:

My 05 MCS weighs 2500lbs (+-20) but it's noisy with so little left on the interior. Biggest weight saving came from racing seats as the stock seats weigh a lot. Once you put in racing buckets you can lose the rear seats as no-one has access to the rear anyway. lol

Ride a bike, diet or hire a lightweight driver.

1. Lighter Rims...dropping down to the 15" or 16" and Non-Runflats.

2. Do a rear seat delete.

Like someone said...a One-Ball Mod will take 20 lbs off.

You can take 40 lbs off total by changing your wheel/tire combo to a lighter set.

For every pound of unsprung weight that you lose, the car reacts 10 pounds lighter. 1/10 ratio. In real life terms. Reducing unsprung weight minimizes the load placed on controlling the motion of the wheels and tires. This means that suspension springs and shock absorbers will have a greater reserve capacity to control body motion -- just as they were intended to! The result is better handling.

Just copied that from another fourm.

Is there a how-to anywhere for removing the rear seats? Or will it be pretty straightforward once I get in there? I don't plan on carrying anyone around back there anyway, might as well lose a few pounds!
